Then there was the 3-hour Tuesday recap show that followed the Seoul Olympics, called "The Tribute, the Test and the Triumph". The end credits for that program alone ran for 7:20, two seconds longer than the end credits for the XXI Winter Olympics in Vancouver 2010.
I taped the entire closing credits for the XXIV Olympiad in Seoul 1988. I still have it, along with whatever else I taped from that Olympics. The end credits run for 23:28! Of all the closing Olympic credits I have watched since 1984, this was and still is the longest. This was when, unlike in the past decade, NBC didn't cut corners when televising the Olympics and the events within. They credited every single person involved with the production of this Olympics.
Do you have any additional footage of the closing credits? I still remember seeing a Tektronics oscilloscope later on in the closing credits. I worked for Tektronics about that time in 1988 and it was great seeing it on national tv. If you still have a tape could you upload the rest of the closing credits? Thanks.

If anyone has the rest of this please post it! It was a LONG credit sequence. As I recall it has some good behind the scenes shots.

I remember having this on tape. I do believe the entire closing credits went for something like 22 minutes. I'm not kidding.
