I feel the same way, after six months of Palm Pre Plus I went to Galaxy S big difference, like you said the guys at precentral are doing a good job with the preware and developers offering support, the whole community is helpful. Bottom line IMO Palm doesn't offer enough when it comes to android or ios I do miss certain things about my Pre but I'll never go back.
Do agree with the memory card! I like internal storage MUCH better, but I can get a 16 gb flash drive for it and treat it like internal.
It deff. is a great multi-tasker, but the on screen keyboard is working out to be better for me.
One thing I do miss about my pre is the reliable Wi-Fi... I've noticed it can be a little unreliable at times, but I have better sprint coverage with the hero so it kinda balances out.
About the headset, I did use the pre's for a while, but the apple "in-ear" headphones have to be the best quality I have ever had.
Ya the battery is large, but surprisingly it is lasting A LOT longer than my pre did! I had heard comments about a short battery life too, but I haven't had any problems... I can make it an entire day unlike my pre.

Are you having the youtube issue where it can't connect to the videos through the app and you have to go through the browser?

You wouldn't need apple headset if it came with one .... like the pre
4:26 that a pretty big battery for having about half the battery life of the pre.
4:56 pre doesn't really need a memory card when it already has 8 gb
btw typing all this from my pre while on the phone with a few other apps open all at one time (great multi taker)
