@Brulluhman People take advantage of these sorts of things for some kind of self gratification. The news channels are desperate to raise they're profile, so they'll air anything... even if it gets proven to be a hoax later.

@edaoboe How come the Pope's relevant? Because he's involved in a direct way in over a billion people's lives. And in an indirect way in ALL people's lives. That makes him open to ridicule. It's the same reason that you see so many jokes made about the US President, and so few told about the Grand Poobah of Liechtenstein (I'm not positive that's what he's called).
