I personally agree with people saying that Montreux is a Jazz festival, but Purple has - as everybody should know - a special relation to Montreux and therefore it is o.k. Apart from that it is strange to hear that B.B. King or Van Morrison are playing a Jazz Festival. This in fact is bullshit.

christ. i've only just started listening to purple, and they're already one of my favorite bands. demons eye is probably my favorite song at the moment, too- well, that or free's 'heartbreaker'. they're just incredible. i can't stop watching this performance.

I've been listening to Purple since 1970. Bought my first album of theirs in 1971 and went to the first concert that I saw them at in 1972. They used to be better, but they are still quite good. Check out my favorites to see some videos here of old DP.
