@mrowca181 nah mate, when the butterfly shuts after it was wide open. the exhaust gas flowing through the pipes suddenly slowed down, at this moment the unburnt fuel in the hot pipes happens to ignite causing small explosions in the exhaust commonly known or called back firing

It is said that there is no stupid questions only they are stupid answers.

When you change the exhaust with a less resistance air flow, then more fuel is collected in the exhaust instead of staying in the combustion chamber. This additional fuel in the exhaust pops.

In most cases you have to reprogram computer to add more fuel. In this way you will avoid too lean mixture, and burned valve seats.
