Did u take econ 101? Why would insurance Co charge a premium so high that no one can buy it? If there is competition, the market price is determined by supply and demand. A single firm can hardly control price. To increase profit, they should reduce cost, but the proposed HC bill makes it very difficult. bottom line: the bill is a hoax. medical inflation is 15%, they don't consider it.

Why not try to fix specific issues of the larger problem, allow full competition across state lines, a pool for prexisting, tort reform? These are in the current GOP proposal and wont inject goverment into our lives farther than it is. That Pelosi bill is a foothold into your life that will never leave. Pelosi's figures are 3-4 years of taxing before paying out so the actual 10 yr costs are skewed her way.

There is no such thing as insurance in the US, we have prepaid medical cards, much like a prepaid phone card, because people are too dense to understand that their employer is deducting what they pay in insurance directly from what they would pay in salaries. This is made possible by the tax code that allows prepaid medical to be tax free, giving large corporations a huge advantage over small start up businesses. All other insurance is used in case of a catastrophe, why is medical different?
