  • What about "Be quiet" -.-

  • @ChiTsumai yeah....i get that idea....mostly upper class people use it i guess

i kinda think ayaka should've mentioned the literal sense....that if ur holding ur tongue, u cant talk....so thats the idea behind the phrase

  • YAGUCHI "SHUT UP" hahahaha!

  • @cpp1 stfu nobody cares.

  • @cpp1 Sweetheart England is a lot smaller then Montana and let me tell you the amount of different dialects here is almost comical, a person from Lincolnshire for example would find it very hard to understand the cockney accent and slang, and a person from Manchester would find the London accent confusing. Different regions, different cities, different villages, different social groups, it all adds up. I'm not saying this to annoy you, but it’s the standard truth.

  • @cpp1

    uh..

    are you actually serious?

they don't "deserve" to have different dialects? as if certain places "deserve" anything.

that's just how it is. if your special little place is so wonderful, it should have lots of dialects, if not, who's fault is that? the people who live there. not the people who actually are diverse and have lots of dialects..

    stop being jealous. lmfao.

  • LOL when yauchi said "shut up" it reminded me of the funny as heck korean movie seducing mr perfect when the girl says drunk "shut up, just shut the f*** up" xDDD i fell over backwards laughing when i heard that :D

  • @IgnatzKolisch thx! I wish the show still aired, cuz it's so cute. I'm also very glad for Tsuji and her new family. I haven't heard anything on Ayaka though. I'll look it up. Anyways thx and Go Tsuji and Kago and Mari! Luv all you guys!

  • Does this show still air in Japan??

  • @ilikemusicdawg

No. It was never a whole show, anyway. It was just a tiny segment of a show, and it was only done for about 2 years. There were 203 of them made, although Ayaka did do a couple of quasi-flashbacks of it later. (Yeah, I just found one: /watch?v=FNiG27sGFmQ This is at least several years after the last Ayaka's Surprise English Lesson). Neither Ayaka nor Tsuji are even with Hello! Project any longer; Ayaka isn't even with UpFront. Both are married, and Tsuji has 2 kids.

  • @IgnatzKolisch I'm curious to know the name of the whole show. And also, whether that particular show is available on DVD?

  • When I was little I used to take that phrase literally.

  • damn.. that orenji jows again..LOL

  • =_= "Please be quiet" would have been fine. No one says "Hold your tongue"...

  • @donsherio I'm sure it's the same way when we learn Japanese...almost all of the forms of words I learned in my first semester weren't used when I would listen to my tutor and his friend talking.

  • @donsherio

I know right? Maybe way way way way way way back then...but not now :D

  • i liove that the subtitles say please be quiet yet they teach her hold your tongue

  • hahaha i just imagined tsuji and kago singing shut up while skipping around the place because they didn't know what mari said xD

  • Mari loves her owanji jyoose.

  • Hold your tongue is an impolite statement!

  • @minhtambeast mari said "since i'm in mini moni" it was made clear to ayaka that she wants something that shows her authority over the other members in the group, because 2 of the members: tsuji and kago were very mischievous.

  • @hironyx Yeah, I know that. Yaguchi was the leader of mini moni. But I love Kago-chan! :D

  • Hld your tounge? Hmm, i've never used that in my entire 14 years of english, but maybe thts just a polite way to put iyt . Hld your tounge, eh? Hmm, ii miyte start usinqq tht one.

  • live action anime right there

  • It has now come out just how difficult Aibon and Nono actually were. Polite english definitely wouldn't work on those two. Yaguchi-san or Mika-chan or Aibon need to write a book about those days.

  • LOL. I DONT NEED POLITE ENGLISH.

  • lol I dont need to know polite english, just shut up XD

  • Haha...western Japan...China lol

  • @Scripzing o.0?

  • Aww cuutee

  • @12martijn1211 what are u talking about?

  • LOL Mari wanted to learn "please be quiet" because of Nozo and Kago hahaha

  • i miss these days, but i like the background music when mari said ice tea

  • OMG EPIC XD

    "SHUT UP!"

    and then the imitation! XD

    "what did she say??"

  • i love how reluctant the japanese chic it to learn...ho she runs away @ 1st and has to be bribed w food hahah xD. i'd do the same!

  • haha nice

  • Isn't the song in the background at 1:07 Pizzicato Five? Or maybe Fantastic Plastic Machine?

I recognize it, but cannot place it!

    Please help :)

  • maris right you would just say shut up

  • Mari-chan is sooo cutee! ^_^

  • Are all japaneses so cute? :)

  • @edv11nas i wish!

  • @edv11nas they are quite good-looking

  • @puffyluvr cute is not always good-looking :) Good-looking girls are at my place, Lithuania :D

  • @edv11nas XD well i guess we all have claims to good-looking and/or cute people

  • @puffyluvr damn right ;D

  • @edv11nas XD more power to ya

  • Shut up! :"""DD

  • gawd! I always develope a craving whenever i see those desserts. the Japanese sure know how to make such attractive and delectable looking pasteries in the whole of Asia.

  • LOL I love Yaguchi's "Shut up"!

  • Ayaka (the one in the maid costume) speaks English like a native! So adorableeee!!!~

  • shes from Hawaii

  • No, she actually isn't from Hawaii, but she spent her teenage years there.

  • Ayaka was actually born in Japan and lived in Hawaii whan she was a teenager.

  • Please someone tell me that sha na na na na song?

  • I love the look of the girls whenever they hear the literal translation back to Japanese.

"It literally means hold your tongue."

    Mari - O_o

  • they always run away... lol

  • LMFAOOO imagine

    mari: SHUT UP

    tsujikago: Shut uP

  • Marippe is so adorable ..... what is wrong with Japanese men? why is she single?

  • @kenlo77 She's not any more :)

  • @TheDoodlibop Wha? What do you know we do not? A secret marriage? Your source?

  • 0:43 "okay today i'll have...* "out of here" look for about 4 seconds*.....Iced tea !" best part of the video !

  • 0:39 so cute ! <3

  • 2:05 was the best!!!

  • I'm not crazy about japanese women but she's adorable.

  • "I don't really need the Polite English" haha .. I liked that.

  • nobody says hold your tongue anymore...

  • "shut up"LOL, gotta love Marippe.

  • Well, that's it... I'm going to Japan to make Marippe my wife.

  • U know the line is really really really long, right?

  • English in Hawaii must be a bit old fashioned...at least yaguchi got it right - SHUT UP!

  • most probably cause they are teaching in the polite form now so they used hold your tongue instead of quiet..

  • ayaka's teaching them english sayings aha

i think be quite is better than hold ur tongue ne~

    x3

  • Ayaka comes from Northern-Japan

  • hm i don't know, in another episode they said she comes from western japan, or so did the subtitles but maybe they were wrong >>

  • when she said "You're from western Japan, Ayaka." was that a joke?

  • Ayaka is from Kansai.

Kansai is the western part of the Honshu Island.

Yaguchi said "Kansai desu yo, Ayaka."

  • i think it's because Takoyaki is famouse food of western Japan...so Yaguchi said Ayaka should made Takoyaki for her:)

  • Kyou wa...................... ICED TEA!!!!

    Marippe beingh funny as always

Why did she ask Ayaka if she was from Western Japan?

  • Mari seems to be the only one asking for drinks. *shrug*

  • i tging that "be quiet" would be better than "hold your tongue"

  • haha, I'm surprised they don't get fat from all this cake xD

  • haha, I'm surprised they don't get fat from all this cake xD

  • So wrong .

  • omg when yaguchi said Shut up i loved it XD

  • was this before or after the episode that Yaguchi Mari fell over?

  • No, this is waaaaay after.

  • why would they call the servant master?

  • I guess it is a polite thing. Japaneses call pretty much everyone in the service business "sensai" (master).

  • yes, most of the Japanese language is based on levels of respect, for different people you are talking to.

  • i hope she is going to be ok next time from running in to the table. but that has got to hurt anyways from this vidoe. Mari running for cake.

  • marippe trying to control the dynamic duo aibon and nono... that i want to see!

  • lol, Yaguchi, already had a more effective english phrase.

  • lol 2:50

  • What's the name of that song? It's got all those "la"'s in it, and I think it's awesome. Would you please tell me what its name is?

  • Lol the "Isn't it SHUT UP?" OMG That made me laugh so hard. I would've said SHUT UP too XD

  • Nan desu ka soreeeeeeeeeee >w< Hahahaha Mari-chan you're so cool >w<

  • lol

  • I like Yaguchi's reaction to Ayaka demonstrating the phrase.

  • I love the thumbnail picture for this video :P

  • Mari Yaguchi = The funniest one XDD OMG!! "I don't need to know the polite english!" XDDD

  • I like Yaguchi's shut up better than ayaka's hold your tounge^.^ I mean nobodies says that anymore.

  • omg this is hilarious

  • That was hilarious. xD NAN DESU KA SORE!? NAN DESU KA!?

  • this show is it popular in japan

  • Yes.

  • What's sad is that I could picture Aibon and Nono copying her.

  • Its so funny! "Shut up" =lol :p
