What is the point of trying to squeeze all of that power out of a 2:0 litre block? A small block crate V8 will give you that for a fraction of the cost. If you've got the extra pennies then an all aluminum big block not only weighs less but will give you double the power and 200,000 miles before a rebuild. I just don't get small engines, getting BHP is easy but performance requires massive torque and the cheapest way is a big V8.

I like bent 8s, used to have one, but I'd like to see you putting one into an escort and keeping it streetable, 2 litre steet cars have been hitting 800 reliable hp and some over 1000 - costs a shed load of money at that point and not that much use other than a quick sprint now and again.
