@imanmash There are Persians in Afghanistan aswell, just because Iran was the last to be known as Persia, doesn't mean that you can forget about the Persians of Afghanistan. The Afghan region became independent from Persia in 1709. The Persians of Afghanistan are known as Tajiks (meaning non-turk) and Farsiwans. Anyway why would you want to call yourself a Persian instead of a Farsiwan, the term persian/persia was given by the enemy which was the Greeks, also by the Western world.

@imanmash There are Persians in Afghanistan aswell, just because Iran was the last to be known as Persia, doesn't mean that you can forget about the Persians of Afghanistan. The Afghan region became independent from Persia in 1709. The Persians of Afghanistan are known as Tajiks (meaning non-turk) and Farsiwans. Anyway why would you want to call yourself a Persian instead of a Farsiwan, the term persian/persia was given by the enemy which was the Greeks, also by the Western world.

We should be careful not to offend our Herati brothers. They speak in an accent that sounds so similar to Farsi but it is Dari of Herat. Afghanistan is made up of people with variety of accents and they are all Afghans.
