I guess I'll have to keep it as loud as always even if it has that weird noise in the background when you use head phones. Eventually I'll get a new mic and see if it goes away, if not its beyond my control.

If this helps any, I don't remember there being static while you were in the U.S. I think it only started soon after you returned home.

I have a similar issue here at my house. Whenever I use "any" headset / microphone on my PC there is some static / electrical noise. What I discovered was, the reason it's doing that is because my PC's electrical outlet / socket is not grounded.

When my pc & mic are plugged into a grounded socket there is no noise, when it isn't grounded there's noise.
