Face it, this video is for the weekend warrior home owner handy man whooped husband. Nothing wrong with these instruction at all. But professional installers would laugh at anyone trying this on a real job.
Also, it would be crazy to hang the base BEFORE the carpet. The backing of carpet is practically sand paper. There is almost no way to keep from scratching the base with the back of the carpet.
@madkisser915 Absolutely. The install will go easier when you can run your knife along the wall and not worry about damaging the base. In my 20 years of installing, I have never seen anyone install new carpet base before carpet. However, there is an account we service with apartments with stretched in carpet with cove base. They do not replace the cove base when replacing the carpet sometimes. The carpet needs to be trimmed and tucked under the toe of the cove base without damaging. Tough.
@MrDarinWarren That makes two of us...The carpet goes down first, that's just common sense. These vids are pretty good besides missing it in a few spots.
Here's my Cove Base tutorial.....outside corner instal.

@MrDarinWarren So, what do you suggesting would be the best results? Install the carpet before the wall base?
