What year wrx are you looking at Mac? They arent all the same. A 2004 wrx, as is in the video, had a 2.0L engine and 13.5 psi turbo with 227 stock hp. The 2008s have different specs. The STi pushes around 15psi, but IT HAS A BIGGER 2.5L ENGINE AND LARGER TURBO so it doesnt need to push any more psi, more psi = shorter engine lifespan. And pan is a damn crazy liar with his family sedan, no matter what you say he has done it, cracks me up.

I am talking about 2006 and 2008 models. The 2006 and 2008 WRX have the same new 2.5L engine that produces more torque and HP but it only puts about 8PSI. They have basically the same engine but it boils down to the fact that the WRX has a smaller turbo than the STI. The STI does push about 14 PSI but like I just said the WRX puts much less HP because it has a smaller turbo. Since the new WRX has more displacement it needs less boost than before to achieve the same power.

I bought a 2k3 Maxima SE last summer, and by friend across the street just bought an '04 WRX. Both are still stock. We're gonna have to do some research in the street. Any idea what might happen? I've been in his car and you can definitely feel a big difference in torque - my car has a lot more. His car's lighter though.

A 6-speed max with the VQ35DE with bolt-ons and a good driver could hold its head high against all most cars - maybe not a worked STi but against a stock one it would beat it easily off the line and only lose up top.

DUDE where can you get a 6SPD maxima.. maximas werent made 6 spd.. but 5spd... werent they?? well i have a 95 5spd and they FAST with mods it can easily take WRX... only reason WRX won is TURBO OP END POWER and MAXIMA tops OUT AT 120-130 but DAM for a maxima HE KEPT UP!!!! what mods ARE IN THAT MAXIMA????

The J31 Maximas (6th Gen in the US) from 2003 onwards were offered with a 6-speed manual option. Viciously good enignes. Used to have an A31 RWD Cefiro...mmm...

good vid! Those 6spd Maximas are not an easy feat for a WRX in higher gears...even w/ light bolt-ons. At 17psi along w/ the other mods, the WRX should be capable of high 13s as it sits.
