I had an old mix tape from 94' recorded at Hessentag in Frankfurt, one side DJ Dag, the other Sven Vath. Both were blistering trance-filled monster mixes, but it was this track that seemed to be perfect for the time. Hard, melodic, ominous and brutally danceable. Has taken me 17 years to find out what the track was, by going through a list of trance classics. I even asked Dag and Sven themselves at the Omen in '94 what the track was. Love it at this speed by the way. One Word: Schlamming

Zak, love to you too fella & nothing but respect for you & your part in the release & support of this track. You gave me the chance to get track out there with an incredible ongoing response. You were also there in my studio for the final mix. It was one of many takes. I was wired, ruined, obsessed, sweating like a freak, & was indeed a very organic & spiritual experience.... I would love to remaster & re-press a limited edition vinyl run, but my master DAT got damaged (the first 2 minutes were chewed up) so unless anyone else (Zak?) has a copy then it would be impossible to recreate the track as it was a full on hands on live mix. A remix close to the original is however an option that I am considering ; )

I guess Murdoch has been defined as my finest moment so far thanks to Sven. I worked very organically & every mix was random & changed from day to day, mixed live with minimal equipment. There are rough pre/post mix mutations that are very different but I have to say that after a week of prgramming & a full day of sweaty mixing with minimal & cranky equipment that the mix that went out was the right one!
