The fact is that Kurds are a mix containing different genetic sources. So are Armenians and Turks and Azeris. In fact, all these populations are surprisingly similar. Armenians arrived around 600BC and would have intermarried with the people living there. They imprinted themselves on the region and took their name- or at least the name foreigners gave them- from the region. Not the otherway round.

first of all, if you can't accept turkey as a sovereign legitimate country, you have a hard time accepting this as a turkish van can. you will call it an armenian van cat or kurdish van cat. but the fact doesn't change that van is now in turkey, and you couldn't call this anything else. even if kurds or armenians were the dominant population around lake van. it is simply now in turkey. get over it.

kurtler hayvanları sevmez. bunun için gidin kürt şehirlerine köylerine bakın. insanların kedilere köpeklere muamelesini görün. Siz insan değilsiniz ki, insanlığınız yok ki sizin yörenize, insanınıza ait hayvan türü olacak. kedinin kökeni Ermeni olabilir, Fars olabilir, Türk olabilir ama kürt olamaz.

WE are not going to make a war. The Turkish military and government forcefully started a war because Kurds liked the cats and it was part of local folklore. When a German animal rights group found out that the turks were killing the cats the Turks got embarressed. So instead they took hundereds of them to western turkish cities and renamed them Turkish Van Cat. Kurds and Armenians didnt make this an ethnocentric thing. it was the turks. fuckings barbarians
