can someone tell me how he dies twice? I'm more of a batman fan so I'm not that into superman's comics but i recently watched Allstar Superman and he dies in that.. so whats with Allstar & Doomsday? does he come back to life or what?
Only things I didn't like about the movie was that Superman didn't get as fucked up as he did in the comics, and they ignored "The Reign of the Supermen" Which was also a great story arch.

The sentry fought him once and superman just absorbed all his power, seriously if he even absorbed the power of one star, he would have exploded, you see when atoms get too hot they separate, there is no way superman could win against sentry, sentry had far too much sunlight and it also never said if it was superman's weakness red sunlight. either way sentry FTW.

I did do research and the only things he represents in my opinion are match ups between overpowered people. If you want to see real heroes go look at spider man, wolverine, gambit, blade, batman, daredevil they are all better then superman. One reason is that they were not born with the advantages that superman had and had too work hard too get stronger while superman's genes got his abilities the cheap way and is already strong from the start which I don't like. I will explain more later.

Superman was actually born without any super powers. The Sun in our galaxy is what gives him Super Powers and basically makes him indestructible and fly. Superman dies around 1960 with a cover where he's in a coffin, and all the other heroes like Batman and Wonder Woman are gathered around it.
I wish the movie makers would go back and study the original Siegal/Schuster work, he radio show, the Fleischer Brother cartoons and the Kirk Allyn Superman, so they can get a real feel for the character.

the first is Kryptonite(green/red)poisonous radioactive / nullifies yellow sunlight
2nd red sun rays
3rd his compassion for the weak is a weakness that's been exploited
4th he can be overpowered Darkside and Doomsday have made that fact clear as hell,heck so did Batman a few times he's got power to spare but he is still flesh and blood I quote Lex "Sometimes Even Gods must fall"

I did do research and the only things he represents in my opinion are match ups between overpowered people. If you want to see real heroes go look at spider man, wolverine, gambit, blade, batman, daredevil they are all better then superman. One reason is that they were not born with the advantages that superman had and had too work hard too get stronger while superman's genes got his abilities the cheap way and is already strong from the start which I don't like. I will explain more later.

Wolverine and Gambit are mutants.They too, like Superman, were born with their powers. Blade was born a half-vampire, he had the vampire's strengths and none of their weaknesses. DareDevil was blinded by toxic waste, and he too, like Spiderman, gained superhuman reflexes.Batman is the only one without being born with superpowers or accidently gaining them to become a superhero.

Superman was actually born without any super powers. The Sun in our galaxy is what gives him Super Powers and basically makes him indestructible and fly. It's like if one of us were sent to a galaxy far away in space, and suddenly we discover that we have super amazing powers which outpower anyone on that planet.

@ronniepooch Superman is Kryptonian. His cells can utilize radiation from a Yellow, Blue or White Star; And even from other matters in the Universe to grant him special abilities ( i.e Superpowers). Regardless of whether or not he was born with powers, his body and cells still harness Sunlight radiation to give him powers because he is Kryptonian, not human. Humans CANNOT harness any energy in the DC Universe because Kryptonian biology is much more complex than humans.

wow, fanboys that sit in the theater and loudly pick apart a live action theatrical version of a hit cartoon or comic series have got to be the biggest on my shit list of useless people. OMG the transformers didnt come to earth that way! and OMG, it was rogue and gambit that were a thing not rogue and iceman. I jump up in the theater and say STFU Fanboy! and watch the movie. Yes it does not follow the comic. But guess what, I read the comic, so why would I watch a movie of a story i know?

@mrmacross the movie was a disappointment but the soundtrack is worth getting at least :P honestly they should've used the doomsday from Superman Apocolypse instead it actually looks closer to the orignal version even do those clone dooms were laughable compared to their badass orignal but I wish they'd put the damn bones that are attached to its eyelids it would look better but the no talking thing and murderous aspects where done well I'll admit.

Superman dies around 1960 with a cover where he's in a coffin, and all the other heroes like Batman and Wonder Woman are gathered around it.
I wish the movie makers would go back and study the original Siegal/Schuster work, he radio show, the Fleischer Brother cartoons and the Kirk Allyn Superman, so they can get a real feel for the character.
