Actually, there is an easier way. When begining a new game, go to the subway route between algoquin and bohan. After passing the barricade by the bridge theyll try to get you, but youll be underground, so youll just have to wait for a while. Much easier!!!!!

Actually the easiest way to get this achievement is to go to any harbour that has a jetty and then put the jetmax cheat in, this is when you 1st start the game, jump in the jetmax boat and ride up and down the water, you will get 6 stars automatically, you then simply ride up and down the water for 5 mins!Easy as!

just to add to my comment, you'll need to fight your way downstairs to save on your mattress.... trying to fight your way out and run away is extreme because tanks will be everywhere and guys behind trucks with M4s will tear you off your bike even with armour

What I did to get the achievement is I went to the hospital, (One that you can walk in to), and started shooting everyone till I got 6 stars. Cops will keep running in so just keep killing them till you get your 6 stars, then wait 5 minutes. It worked for me.

what i did is just run across the subway tracks following under the middle bridge at the beginning of the game when you don't have access to other islands. just go about half way, get 6 stars, sit there. i managed to get a motorcycle up there and went to the other side, then back to loose the cops but the walk free achievement didn't activate when i got away :(

OR! you could park a big car in front of the russian store... then, call 911 and ask for the LCPD, then, kill the cashier, and go out side and hide behind the car and kill a cop. Once you have your 3 stars... stay behind the car OR go inside the Russian store and hide in the clothes-changing booths and kill cops.

With the car blocking the entrance... no cops can enter the store and youre safe as long as you dont go back outside and have plenty of armor and health!

i just got the game yesterday, just now got my safehouse in bohan and i already got this achievement. First, i started a mission and failed it so that you get that try again text on your phone. then i got four stars or whatever so boats come, jacked one and drove it across so i got six stars. then i just drove it around the map for five minutes until i unlocked the achievement. after that i went on my phone and opened the try again message and started the mission again, which clears your stars.

if you start a new game and get far enough to get a pistol, there are plenty of places you can hide and kill cops until you get it. If you don't want to start a new game file, try saving, but there is no real evidence as to how the cheats block the acheivements. no one's really confirmed anything with solid facts

there are plenty of ways to get 6 stars without flying over a locked island... stand anywhere on the island, shoot enough cops, get a helicopter and there you go...

what i did was start a new game save then get a bus and go to the bridge kill a cop and drive  to the beach and just drive in a circle bc the cops rarly follow u on the beach or near the water and just look for you.. but yea i got it my first try.. it was awsome =D

the bridge way, or helicopter way doesn't help anyone that's actually plays the game...because everyone's already played it so much, that all islands are unlocked. This seemed to be the easiest way for me, and I discovered it just by messing around.

u do know that there is a SECOND easy way to get this achievement/trophy all u need to do is go to the helitours spot on the second island and jack it then fly to the third island (make sure that it is NOT unlocked yet!!) then u will instantly get 6 stars then just fly round until the achievement/trophy is earned then go to any mission marker to clear the wanted level :D hope i helped thats what i did on my PS3 GTA 4 :)

it is easy getting "one man army". wat i did was to create a 6 star wanted near a subway tunnel and run deeper into the subway system cuz they wont go 4 u when r in the tunnels deep, then stay there 4 about 5 mins.this way can also help on the achievement where u can lose a 4 star wanted but u have to run out of the flashing circle while in teh subway tunnels, well guys this is my way of getting those 2 acheivements, so do wats best

GTA 3 was a different story, that game was hard, you almost did need cheats because of the controls. If they took GTA 4 controls and graphics, vechicles, etc. and upgraded everything in GTA 3 with all the updates but had the same missions (for the most part) and story line, that game would be a platinum seller too. I know I'd buy it, GTA 3 was "The game of the year" to me at the time....aside from Halo...man that was a good gaming year....and MGS2...(cries at such greatest, lmao)

if you killed dwayne, then just go behind playboy's house and you'll find an alley with dumpster, jump on that then onto the stairwell in front of it, you can run up the stairwell to playboy's penthouse.

One time I was goofing around when I only had the 1st island. I think I either went in the airport or tried to go to the 2nd island and ended up getting six stars. So I was trying to do the wheelie achievement while the cops were still on me and ended up getting away somehow and got the achievement when I wasn't trying to lol.

i did it this way and it worked for the first time. what i did was i got 5 stars, and then when the millions of police gathered at the cars in the front i lobbed a grenade and everything just exploded giving me automatic 6 stars, and when the armored tanks came in i just shot some RPG's out the window and fucked the rest of the guys in the head when they walked in. for some reason on my game u have to raise hell to get 6 stars.
