@LesterPaul01 I guess it's in a range of $1000 -$1500......sometimes you can find a cheaper deal, depends on condition.. hard to find, though, not too many left out there...
A couple of things first of all the amp sounds Absolutely A M A Z I N G !!!! I have a 74 and thinking about doing the same mods I I was wondering how many watts is the cone as there are so many G 12 models from Celestion and where did you get the transformer ? Thanks
@psykoelvis It has 70 watts Celestion G12 M-70 "Modern Lead" 12" Speaker. I've bought the amp modified with a new transformer. The original transformer was also included . All I can say is that a new transformer as twice as bigger than the old one. I guess it pumps up about 40 watts. I played small clubs and big stages....never had to turn the volume more than 5.
FANTASTIC clip! Your playing was great and the tone you get is wonderful. When you first started playing in the clip, what was the reverb set on (if you can remember)? What tubes are you running? Again, you sound great! Nice job!
@surfocaster Thanks man. I think it's been set it up to somewhere between 3 and 4. The output tubes are pair of matched 6V6 GT and RCA 5U4GB rectifier.
Hello my friend, I have sold My HRDx, so I am now trying to find a good clean silverface deluxe reverb or SF PR, do U know anyone who has one for sale, if so I don't mind if it's in the US as I can pay for shipping no worries, will U let me know asap please, thanks mate
@UKToneKing I understand that you are looking for a vintage SF Dx Reverb, not the reissue one.I will ask around here(It's state of Utah). There are a couple of them on Ebay,But you will have to expect some expenses such as a shipping cost and custom fees. And beside, all of the amps 110 volts. You might want to think twice before making a decision to buy an amp in USA. It's just my opinion.Anyway,I will ask around and will let you know if I find something. But again, it is Utah, you know what I mean.
@fendrstrat1 because of the voltage difference, can I but a device so that the amp works here, and does it effect the tone ect, cheers mate, I don't mind buying one as long as with an adapter it will work the same
I have a rosewood fret board on my USA strat, I think they are loads better than maple, mainly because its always mostly the best of both worlds, as the neck is normally maple with a rosewood fretesboard, loads better to have two pieces of wood rather than just one like maple, I think they feel loads better than maple as well, and they look more warmer and inviting, don't U THINK.
@UKToneKing For me it's the best amp.The other amps I used to have were either heavy or didn't sound the same. It's also a real working horse,I've played 4-5 hours gigs,3-4 days a week for the last 2 years and recently have got the tube tested, they are still show ''good''.And it has so many different tones, you can play almost any style of music.
@UKToneKing You know I actually sold it to my friend last year when I left to Europe, because I could not take it with me because of all those voltage differences. I was going to stay in Europe for a long time, but it didn't work out. So,I came back to USA and first thing I did I run to my friend's and asked him if he still had that amp.Luckily he still had it. I told him how bad I want it back, and offered him more money, but he sold it to me for the same price.I will never sell it again.
@fendrstrat1 Great U got the amp back, My HRDx is loud for bedroom use, is the deluxe reverb any better ? is it much quieter than the HRDx, can I get a good tube tone at lower volumes compared to the HRDx, the HRDx is a loud amp like, great sounding, I proper love the tone now like, its jangle and everything, could get an attunator, but its just like master volume, not my thing
@UKToneKing.I don't know if your HRDx is quieter than DLXR. I think any tube amp is too loud for a bedroom use.I use the headphones and a little practice amp Frontman. The recording of the video I did at my friend's basement. And I can't compare your amp with mine. It's a personal choice. It's depends what kind of sound you are looking for. If you are happy with the sound,it's your amp, just play it.There are a lot of other amps that also sound great, but right now I am happy with my amp.
@UKToneKing Look into the Vibro Champ XD for a practice amp for classic Fender tones among others. You can turn the volume way down and it will still sound great. BTW Weber makes a headphone adapter for tube amps that you could into.
Hey great demo man, proper alive that amp like, a reissue just does not sound that good, you can pick a silverface up for what U would pay for a new reissue. What do U think of the hot rod deluxe, I have had mine 1 month and already thinking about trading it in for the deluxe reverb reissue, my music shop said he would give me good money as its nearly new, do you think the deluxe reverb is a lot better sound amp ? let me know your thoughts asap please, thank man.
@UKToneKing Some people say the hot rod deluxe are no good, but I have no complaints with the cleans sound, its far from crap like people say, its pretty dam good
@UKToneKing I am sorry man,I don't know much about Hot Rod Deluxe.I've just found Deluxe Reverb much better amp for me,than the other amps.I tried to play 65' reissue, sound different, less high end and mid with my strat(sounds pretty good with Gibson Les Paul though).I think you just need to try it not at the music shop, but in real life, playing gig.It would be perfect to have both amps and try them both out. Then you can make a right decision.
great sounding u just cant beat a valve amp am playing a strat and les paul though a 69 marshall twin jcm head and 2x12 cab ..fantastic tone ..but a think your strat has the edge on tone with the silverface..
@Scartapus Hi,I think,I've set up the volume to 3.0-3.5.Usually when I play gigs,I don't go more than 5 on volume. The only modifications has been made to this amp,is a bigger output transformer(so the power increased to 30-35 watts) and I don't think the Celestion G-12 Modern Lead is the original speaker.I believe the original was Jensen. But I've bought that amp with all those mods, and I think they are the best.I have also tried to play the original Silverface it cranks when it is a loud.
Nice !!
