Sonya is not Selene's mother. Sonya is viktor's daughter and he has her killed b/c she becomes preg by a lycan, a union of the blood lines="abomination". Viktor turns Selene into a vampire b/c of two reasons, a) Selene reminded him of his dead daughter sonya and b) he felt bad when he went on a rampage and killed her entire family.  that's the basic gist but the movies are worth seeing.

this movie takes place before Celine. (Movie 1 and 2) sonja is the daughter of victor and she falls in love with the leader of the lycans. Kinda goes back in time to tell u how the war started.

Sonja is the greatest of death dealers, this is intimated that she is strong enough to patrol the lands by her self against the werewolves, she is a better swords person than her father, he alone states in the movie she is the bravest warrior he has ever seen, but he wants her loyalty, because Sonja is headstrong and defiant of her father wishes and edicts.

No, Lucian can beat Viktor, but the regeneration abilities that Viktor possesses(as a vampire elder) prevents him to die easily, so that's why Lucian wanted to become a hybrid. Even Marcus is stronger than Viktor, but Viktor has total control over the Death Dealers.

The Vampires are smarter than the werewolves(that's the reason the almighty William was captured) yet the most powerful lycan(Lucian) can beat a vampire elder.

Lucian must be the most powerful character, at least in my record.

I loved this movie. Lucian was freaking amazing made me liek the lycans almost more then the vampires. Except for Sonja in RotL and Selene in the orginal two movies. Def cried when vicktor has Sonja killed in front of lucian. does anyone know the dialgue between them right before her death? i know lucian said somethign about looking at him and then i couldnt tell what Sonja said after that. vicktor was so freaking evil. and loved lucian/sonja togather! i loved how sonja was such a rebel!

After they beat Lucian he collapses on the ground, he can't change to a werewolf cause he has silver arrow in his body. they have locked the leaded door and left Sonja for the coming daylight, she calls out to Lucian, he awakens, Lucian tells Sonja to look at him, stay focus on him, to keep Sonja fear away. Sonja says to Lucian Goodbye my love.
