you don't need 2 bass drums...he used a double bass PEDAL, most smaller bands do, it's quite hard to tune 2 bass drums to the EXACT same pitch, plus the pedal is a lot cheaper, and much easier to haul and set up

And if you listen to the studio version of this song, youll notice that hes doing 16th notes on the double bass and doing closing his hi hat on hits at the same same. Only way to do that really is with doing doubles on the right foot (with the triple bass) and closing the hi hat with your left foot

No its probably tuned. And he uses all three. Its just somewhat rare to use all three at once. Most triple bass drummers do almost everything on the right pedal (which does hits on the toe and heel motion) and only use the left pedal when they're doing a lot of stuff on the left side of the kit

Ill explain again. There are only two pedals so to speak. The left pedal controls just the left bass drum. The right one will kick the center drum when pressed with the toe, and the right drum when pressed with the heel. Though triple basses are usually only applied to 2 bass drums (one beater on the left drum and 2 on the right), and the third drum really is probably for show, he still has three pedals so to speak
