  • Mother of Pearl is not the same without the beginning part (imo the best part of the song).

  • Also on the Horoscope (unreaaleased) album.

  • Also on the Horoscope unrealeased album.

  • Amazing to hear this alternate funky remake. Can't believe he tossed it away. I wonder what else from Horoscope is unreleased. Best version is the live Roxy tour of 1979. A great video of this is posted by Yoshiuchida.

  • It is interesting how BF varies the arrangement of this RoxyMusic classic. i like this version much more than the "original" one. Thanks so much for uploading.

  • Очень славная вещь)))

  • gee..you never know what you're going to find on this wacky YOU-TUBE..

  • great many thanks divoff14 brian la classe as usual if you allow me this comment about mrs jagger . did mick steal her from brian or will brian have been the first to ... its a draw anyway both of them are gentlemen

  • @sheikyerbout If you watch Love Is A Drug Bryan is wearing an eye patch the rumors was Mick Jagger hit Bryan over Jerry Hall. Don't know if this.

  • @divoff14 Bryan would have stomped Sir Mick's skinny little ass.

  • I've just put on three further tracks from the horoscope unreleased album.

  • This was on the CD single Goddess of love I think.......

  • Very differrrrrent!

  • @redemptionredeemed This is very nice too!! I agree with you RedemptionRedeemed!

  • aha, just went onto vivaroxymusic site. Bryan re-recorded this in 1992 for the aborted solo album Horoscope.

  • when was this recorded, it sounds like a Bryan solo effort, the production is very Boys and Girls/ Mamouna

  • das war super geil

  • Definately better than Nellie McKay's song with the same title.

  • I prefer this laid back tune....the lyrics are so beautiful.....

  • it's fucking great, like everything he does.

  • If to listen to the version of 70’s following this one, the original seems more expressive... The matter of taste, I think. Anyway, I like both.

Nice shot from "Breakfast on Pluto" <3

  • i prefer the original.

  • I prefer the original but to be fair this is not bad.

  • The music is exceedingly lifeless and soulless, especially the drum programme is awful. Nice vocals though.

  • @AndrewAnthonyHyde Yes all the 90s dance and 'soul' music was really soul draining in it's lifelessness. I still shudder when I hear some godawful stupidmotherf&&king song from that time.

  • this would make great porn music

  • very nice.... great sound quality, nice layers, strong beat... the sensual kind of music he really excels at.

Some super images too :) thank you

  • Wow, i really like this version. I mean, nothing beats the original of course, but this has got this laid back feel to it. Like he is singing in a casual way, undemanding, unhurried way..!!

  • Like this very much - the artificiality in particular.

  • The 70s version is far superior because of how intense the vocals are. The vocals in this are just far too laid back. If someone could mix the vocals of the original with the melody in this, there might be something really good there.

  • this version actually appears on a cd called Sonata if you can get your hands on a copy

  • Good groove, haven't heard the 70's version, but I will be sure to check it out.

  • I love this version AND the original. I find this a stunning rendition.

  • @w0mblemania Seconded!

  • @w0mblemania I agree with you I love to hear new version s to see how the fair out i love the old version aswell as this.

  • Thanks for posting! I have this on a hard drive that died, if I can't salvage the song files on it at least there's this.

Same hard drive has Johnette Napolitano's cover of this (former lead of Concrete Blonde, recorded as a member of Pretty & Twisted, IIRC), which is outstanding and deserves to be on YouTube.

  • Thank You!!!

Viva Bryan Ferry and Roxy Music***

GREAT MUSIC TO WORK OUT TO!!!

Bryan and Roxy inspire. Great examples of class, style and self respect.

  • I prefer the original version.

  • @maatwerk67 I do agree I loved the 70s version but it's nice to compare them.

  • @divoff14 Of course nothing beats the original - but I really like the slinky groove on this one. Great for late night driving.

  • @PlaceSoFarAway It's also good with the lights turn down.
