Thanks for the video, was thinking of getting into raising rabbits for food, have hunted cotton tails since i was a kid, my son is a great shot, so he does most of the killing. We harvest our own chickens, just don't knock them in the head, and small cut over what would be there carotid artery and a little flapping and it is done. Thanks you have convinced me as well as the price of meat in the store, that is is time to set up a small rabbit growing operation. Thanks again

Thanx for posting the video. I don't understand the request to NOT show this to impressionable children though. I have a 5 year old, and a 7 year old that are very impressionable, and I had them watch the video because I want them to learn how to properly care for rabbits from the cage to the table. One problem with the western culture is grocery stores and restaurants. Has it really gotten so bad that it isn't PC to show people how to prepare food??? How far have we fallen?

So what do you do about a rabbit that has been shot with a 22. I salting and soaking the rabbit after cleaning it, you will find it softens up the meats flavor.
Man.. hitting a rabbit in the head with a block and slitting its' throat is NOT the best or most humane way to kill it. Put your index and middle fingers on either side of its' neck, right up behind its' head. Pull quickly and sharply, which breaks its' neck and it dies instantly and painlessly- it won't kick and writhe around in pain, that's just wrong dude..

Taking the skin off I always started at the tail. What most people who claim that eating meat is not natural dont realize is that without the fats found only in meat your body cant absorb the nutrients in veggies and greens. But this was a pretty sloppy way to kill a rabbit

Why did they cut its throat before it stopped kicking? If they would have hung it upside down and smacked it on the back of the neck, it would have killed it without the mess. Seems like they are making more work for themselves.

Man.. hitting a rabbit in the head with a block and slitting its' throat is NOT the best or most humane way to kill it. Put your index and middle fingers on either side of its' neck, right up behind its' head. Pull quickly and sharply, which breaks its' neck and it dies instantly and painlessly- it won't kick and writhe around in pain, that's just wrong dude..
