hahaha HELL YEAH! Sweet song and video! I'm looking for inspiration for new songs and someone suggested I check out this band, glad I did! Way to pave the way for female rockers!!!!!! I am a female singer in a new pop/punk band called HEY YOU! If any of you Bratmobile fans wanna give it a try let us know what u think (it is a lil more poppy than this one, but we could play a show together... actually I would love that!!!)
youtube search: Hey You Band Taking Over (the one with the bunny)
Because its true...even the fags think emo is faggy. Emo gave gayness a bad name. Don't be so faggy man. Bratmobile was a great band. So was L -7 and today...we have Civet. So....dig it.
fuck man, i miss tht too, how it was about music and the fucking message behind it, riot grrls kickass in the music industry now its more about apposing body and point less shit. ;/
Its a song not a competition.......Go listen to some stupid azz metal band. They started this band to have fun not to try to write the most complicated song in the world....
@SkettiSandwich Right on! "It's a song, not a competition" - I'm gonna use that from now on when dealing with dumb metalheads and "progressive" "rock" fans...
@cruhg Don't be so down, i never got a chance to see chicks that rock. Damn my generation. Luckily, i think there is gonna be a revolt coming in opposition to all these fake ass plastic "girls" dominating the music indudtries. One can hope.....
appealing to some, not so much to others. why are people so self righteous about this stuff, like everyone who doesn't like the same music they do is a moron? i don't give a rat's ass if you like the velvet underground or not. I appreciate that they had the guts to get out there and make themselves heard, but they are just not great musicians in my opinion and I don't enjoy listening to a weak and untuneful voice. but good for you if you dig them.
punk didn't even start till the seventies. bratmobile was definately apart of the riot grrl movement in the nineties along with famous fem punk groups like huggy bear and bikini kill from seattle's kill rock stars label.

to candlesinadaze! I say this not directly to you because I don`t like you and so don`t want to hear more of you crap!! You can`t be a goth AND conformist!!! that`s the whole point of goth!! SO GO AWAY!!!!
Actually, you can. If you have some orthodox concept of what goth is and you adhere to it and condemn people who don't, then you are conformist. I'm not saying you are, and I'm also not saying this is necessarily entirely bad, but, by sheer definition, you can be goth AND conformist. Just as I don't think 'mainstream gay' is a contradiction...though it is awfully sad...
umm sorry to break it to you hun but with out the gothic image thered be no goth. so teqnicaly you have to CONFORM to the goth fashion and scene to be a goth.
I myself had never actually had occasion to hear any of the riot grrl bands and wanted to check them out. it just happened, much to my disappointment, that they do nothing for me, and I said so. it's not a crime.

I'm with you. There's nothing new here. The guitarist, Erin Smith, was in my high school graduating class (Walt Whitman). I don't really remember her much, though. They do look like they're having fun. Great for them, but does nothing for me.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
I'd like them better with a different singer, probably. no, it's not new, it sounds very 1977, except most of the 'amateurish' punk bands were better than this.
this song never gets bad; 16 or 22, I enjoy it so!

Fucking assholes. How could 56 people thumb this up and overlook the blatant hypocrisy and douchebaggery?
Faggy? Yay for homophobia! I mean, It's okay to praise feminism yet let's pick on the fags!
S&M perverts? What a close minded ass you are. So anybody with different sexual preferences and turn ons are perverts?
*Sigh*

Defending grunge and riot grrrl yet flaming sexual diversity and anybody who lingers outside of the "sexual norm" box...
So do explain it to me... Because as far as I can see, you are looking like a pathetic person who hates diversity.
