Fine molds is re-releasing this kit for for the holiday season 2010. Anyone that wants to buy one should be advised the mistakes on the model the guy in these videos pointed out are just the tip of the iceberg, there are plenty more mistakes and I strongly advise you all to hit the forums and blogs before construction.
What's so amazing about this Fine Molds Millennium Falcon is, that the boarding ramp (not shown in this tutorial) is way off for such a detailed and accurate model.
I think Fine Molds spend so much time measuring the at the ILM, but didn't bother
watching the movies when they are machining the boarding ramp parts.
ILM studio models probably didn't have boarding ramp.
its easy to talk alot of crap when you guys arent doing it. This japanese guy is bad ass and he tops any model maker out there!!!!! I cant believe what he did and i think he is freakin awesome. For you guys saying what he did wrong ...you guys are full of it. tryi doing what he does and put it up on youtube. haterz
Has anyone noticed in ESB what appears to be a gas oven top by the the ramp? My model is going to be as seen in the Hoth base. With ALL the landing lights!
i visited the real 5 foot model at an exhibition and got heaps of pics, but i forgot that there was no glass in it, i guess it was put in to reduce glare and stuff
Mindy, what's so funny about this video? It's is very informative and interesting to watch, even if most of us here can't understand Japanese. Why chat when there are great vidoes like this to watch? Shame on you!
The artist have great eyes for detail in construction especially on the cutting into panel connector and recreate damages. I'd wish he would use clear styrene to recreate the windsheld. However, I find the artist is very sloppy as far as painting the details especially the figures.
I know I'm the devil's advocate here, but my observation is sincere. A model in such size the paint job should be more refined.
I totally agree, I come from a miniature painting background into armour and WWII modelling and, should a diorama etc have figures the eye are naturally drawn to them... I see a lot of armour modellers spending very short time on their figures compared to the tank, etc. It's a shame!
so crazy

Love those little figures of Chewy and Hans Solo. Adorable !
The Millenium Falcon was obviously built in Britain given it's right-hand drive... . ;)

Especially in 1/72 scale. I wish I understood Japanese to hear what the narrator is saying. I can do that work in 1/48, but 1/72..Holy Smokes...

Amazing. Excellent work. Now I know how you amazing Japanese guys achieved all your incredible detail in all those Zilla movies!!!
This stuff should be stickied or something for model builders.
