I think she was a good singer, the problem with her was that desperation and how she always just wanted to please Simon. It kind of makes it difficult for people to root for her.

@phunkymunkyrulz Not really. There are no problems with previous contracts contestants might have. Brooke White had recorded an album before idol to put a same-season example. Lots of contestants had previous stuff. The problem is when they're on a contract by the time they audition for idol, which is why Tim Urban finally entered last season. Carly's deal with the company was long gone by the time she entered Idol.

Covering for Archuleta's lyrics flubs is nothing compared to what is going on this year on American Idol. Megan, MattyG, and Anoop were all placed into the finals by the judges despite better performances by the others. Carly is my fave of all time on Idol.

carly is awesome...should've made it to atleast the final four. my favs that season was davids, carly, and michael. cook did copy chris cornell's "billy jean" but he still did a great job. he did mention that it was someone elses version during the snippet before the performance.
