@LostReality33 people tend to forget that Kurt had taken quite a bit of acid during the 1980's. I'm sure he did a lot of artistic things high, such as writing while tripping or something and then was amused like you said when he came to his senses again. He seems like me. I guess he seems like all of us in some ways :)
