  • i live right by this guy lol

  • Believe it or not,his first and native language that he speaks is Spanish.

He does NOT speak English, or VERY little at best. Fact.

I liked that particular Nuggets uniform. Reminds me of the good old days of Dikembe Mutombo.

  • record won't be touched. we aren't in the 80s anymore!

  • he was underrated

  • MAN FUCK DAT NIGGA HE WAS A MOP ..... 2JORDAN3 BITCH

  • He played a lot of games under Doug Moe, who was all offense. Many games where the Nuggets played ZERO, and I mean ZERO, defense. Teams that had no defensive players at all besides TR Dunn. He was a great scorer, but that inflated his PPG avgs a bit. Fat Lever also benefited from the high pace in his REB and ASST stats.

  • he was smooth...

  • bring back the old blue uniforms!

  • He was an english major at South Carolina.

  • @libertatus No one in South Carolina speaks English. Translation: Ain't no burdy in Souf Curra LIE na speak Inglesh

  • @MPHswayze -His last name is English and he was an English major. True story. That's why that was funny. (You may need to translate this comment so that the others who visit this post will understand.)

  • His jump shot is very nice.

  • lol nick the quick

  • Melo WUZ the new alex english lol!

  • Bird, Magic, Kareem, Dr. J, Bernard. Hard to believe he outscored all of those guys

  • I met Mr English in September 1994 in Chicago at an NBA event! He was kind enough to be photographed with me and I recall him being a very down to earth kinda dude! I'd forgotten until recently that he'a in my encounters with the famous group. I didn't know about his outstanding accomplishments. I hope he retired healthy and continues to be successful!

    Thanks for this video!

  • should alex english be the raptors head coach instead of jay triano????????

  • His jump shot is so beautiful. The most beautiful thing in basketball except Abdul-Jabbars hook shoot.

  • and sexy as hell to boot

  • this guy can flat out score

  • I love English, but I did NOT know that he could dunk! When I see footage of certain players dunk, I jump up and say, "I did NOT know that he could do that!" List: Alex English, Bill Laimbeer, Marc Acres, Jack Sikma, Blair Rasmussen, Fred Roberts, Nick Van Exel, John Crotty.

  • I hated Alex Engish style of play ,but it was effective.

  • maybe carmelo is walking his road...

  • @everbanega922 DURANT'S STYLE IS MORE SIMILAR!

  • Damn Nick the Quick looks like Dwyane Wade!LMAO

  • His jump shot looks weird yet smooth.

  • Poesía en movemento.

  • His jump shot is very nice.

  • GO NUGGETS

  • English would make an awesome shooting coach for many of today's players. Even Carmelo could learn a lot from this guy...

  • why is van excel on here. he was a horrible nugget

  • Easily the most underrated player of all time, IMO. He's not only the leading scorer in Nugget's history, he scored THE most points in the 80s, the greatest decade for basketball in history.

  • @paranoid711 i agree to score the most points ina decade tht had mj bird dantley kareem etc is really something

  • @paranoid711

Yeah, but other than scoring he was average in every other aspect of the game, plus he didnt win any championships or even a conference title

  • @AxonMoses the same way carmelo or paul pierce are!english was a good rebounder,he play until 38 years old and avr 5.5 reb, there were seasons he avr 8reb p/g.he also was ok passer,he avr 3.6as and had about 5asists p/g in 6-7 seasons!he was n't good defender but there are many great scorers who are n't.he also had 50.7fg%,great for a perimeter player.

  • @paranoid711 actually the 1920s-1930s was the greatest nba era.

  • @scoutsouljademoman You're referring to the NBL or the ABL. They were the forerunners of the present day NBA. The NBA existence starts just after World War II. Joe Lapchick & the New York (Original) Celtics, ring a bell?

  • Alex English was a tremendous scorer. I copied his jumper and mastered it in high school. Why? He shot so high, the ball came out soft, -- either he swished it, or it bounced off easily for rebounds. Loved his game. A true legend.

  • If you look at his stats, English was scoring high well into his mid 30s... no flashy moves but reliable and effective!

  • He was a triple double machine.

  • he wasn't a triple-double guy at all. The Celtics had him in their possession but let him get away.

  • Nicke the Quick.....

I love to see someone like Van Excel give it up for a TRUE all timer..... one of the most underatted players ever...

    ALEX ENGLISH......

    what a great talent.....

RIP to Reggie Lewis.... the only player that might have drawn a comparrison...

  • Loved to watch him.

He would drop that high arching bomb out the sky. But he could also shoot it quickly, off balance, before the defender was ready.

  • i swear he came to my gym in my building and asked questions , and i answered one right and he gave me his nuggets jersey!

  • Also starred is a movie called "Amaxing Grace and Chuck"

  • god post, AL was a class act
