@thesenuts07 In fact, they did! Also, one of the games references the other...not sure which way it goes, but they acknowledge the other games characters and their accomplishments. So they fit somehow into the same world.

@Time4rpgs I'm just being nit-picky because I love the look of this game, so bear with me :P Specifically what thelunn mentions is the light on his shoulder, which is a rim-lighting effect the developers created (not the emulator), so while obviously the emulator helps with the graphics, they WERE executing nice effects under a lot of constraints. There's tons of these details that make the game stick out in the memories of the people that love it :)

Nice I see you're using epsxe right?, nice graphics, could you tell me your video config? cuz' no matter how I set the settings I can't get the text in the game to show right, I'm using the OpenGL2 plugin for modern cards, I tried everything and nothin' seems to work... I know I'm asking too much, but could you do me that favor.

For opengl2 I use:

and for opengl:

you can play around with window size and hi-res textures as you see fit.

Just remember that opengl2 you need a pretty good graphics card and decent memory(ram)

if youre having issues with opengl2 then use opengl as it has more compatibility with most computers

If youre using an iso use daemon tools for the mountage, or you can use the original disk. Of course an iso is faster speed...as long as your computer can handle it.

@pandachinoman press the DEL key and it will bring up a settings menu use pgup and pgup to cycle through then hit the END key to select what you want. when you're done, press the DEL key to turn off that blue menu or whatever color it is due to your graphics pluging you're using

Even though I will admit the animations are a little rigid, once you become better at comboing, things will seem faster. :)

And certain weapons you use give smoother animations.

@nateman742 What's with FF12? This is nothing like FF12, this game is 1000 times better than FF12, just like any other Final Fantasy is better than 12 (well, except for X-2, dunno about 11 though). Squaresoft and Enix shouldn't have merged. Back then games of both companies were great, now they try to mix it up and the result is bullcrap so far.

First off, nice name. Assaprince sounds like my kinda party. Second, I know the battle system is 1000 TIMES more involving and complex than XII, but you have to admit the system is similar: Freeroam with somewhat awkward controls, pause to target an enemy within a certain radius, select a skill, then let it go.

Looks to me that XII's system is just a simplified version of Vagrant Story, just like XIII's system is a simplified and over-streamlined version of ATB.

@nateman742 Thanks and well yeah, I admit they are similar, but the complexity is what in my opinion makes that kind of battlesystem work. I also have to admit that I'm (surprise) not a fan of FF12 at all. I haven't been playing it for long, but neither gameplay nor story impressed me whatsoever so I dropped it, it may be not all that bad~ As for 13: I like the idea of MP not being present as a number (reminds me of Suikoden 2, which is a great game), other than that it sucked for me as well =/

@DanielPowell357 i always thought this game had some of the best production values of ANY PS1 game. i remember when i first bought it it felt so much better than any other game i had. I had the guide too, and this game was so hard to comprehend when i was that young. i played it again recently and couldn't believe that the part i was stuck at was actually in the beginning of the game .. where you start fighting humans. i remember i kept doing 0 damage. this game is still really sophisticated
