Obama's policies are failing left and right. Unemployment remains steady at 10-11% and the stimulus money is being used for pet projects. His administration is shoving socialized medicine down the throats of America, whether we like it or not. The majority of the stimulus is being given to the states represented by Democrats. Anybody who openly opposes his administration is being dubbed as a terrorist. Believe me, Obama and the Democrats are not in it for us!
Some people I know have been talking bad about this health care reform and I didn't want to say anything. I didn't want to say anything false, I wanted to have the facts before I start mouthing off rumors. After sitting and intently listening to President Obama's speech, I now have two pages of notes all about the healthcare reform; the FACTS. I'm glad I did this too because now I am well informed and know the truth. I can now pick a side; I support it! :D

He is trying to expand the states heath care to be cared for as solid as other foreign countries who are older. The reality is is the U.S is only 200 years old_We have a lot of catching up to do.

Also in '03 Frank opposed a Bush proposal for transferring oversight of Fannie & Freddie from Congress & the Department of Housing and Urban Development to a new agency that would be created within the Treasury Department (Paulson ex-Gordan Sachs). Bush stated Congress "..neither has the tools, nor the stature" for adequate oversight. There were no rules/regulation.
As for the tax cuts you must be on a different planet. Facts are the wealthy paid 17% taxes while the middle-class & poor paid 25% to 30%. Some of the wealthy paid even less because they shipped American jobs overseas while still taking the tax cuts. Think of that! The auto industry was a necessary evil because the alternative to what we are doing today would be vastly more costly & more risky if we did not. It' the largest middle-class consumer in the country. What would we do if MILLIONS of Americans were out of jobs, no healthcare, no retirement? Then what? What would that cost us? THINK! Canada recently put in $9B to save their GM which is their largest consumer & there' still no guarantees. You just hope Americans & Canadians buy cars.

if it's been a GREAT year for the Republicans that sort of says it all. Republicans have a different definition of Great than most people. It's been a rather difficult year for a lot of Americans, not the kind that vote Republican indeed...Look tex, eisenhower was cool. Papa Bush seemed decent when he wasn't campaigning. Ronny had a good sense of humour, and Bob Dole an impressive stamina, but that's about it. Republican America is the amish of the world.

The recession began in December 2007 because of no government oversight in private financial institutions, 2 wars, wasteful spending, 2 tax cuts for the wealthy, while they took the credit & shipped American jobs overseas, Haliburton Sweetheart deals, etc. Where does Frank fit in there? Obama has stated consistently that we're in a mess & it would takes years to get out of it. There wasn't a "quick fix." He can't control American' not spending.

Not rue. Frank became chairman in '07 which by then the housing & bank industry was on the eve of destruction. Also in '03 Frank opposed a Bush proposal for transferring oversight of Fannie & Freddie from Congress & the Department of Housing and Urban Development to a new agency that would be created within the Treasury Department (Paulson ex-Gordan Sachs). Bush stated Congress "..neither has the tools, nor the stature" for adequate oversight. There were no rules/regulation.

The auto industry was a necessary evil because the alternative to what we are doing today would be vastly more costly & more risky if we did not. It' the largest middle-class consumer in the country. Always been a Lincoln fan, always wondered why his party became conservative. Possibly because Lincoln demolished the South, which may explain why so many in the former Confederate States are scared of the left. It's an old trauma that the GOP could capitalize on, especially after LBJ put the Democrats in the Civil Rights camp. Obama certainly has a lot on his plate and it should be hard to accomplish, especially with a lack of concrete details. One thing that is very true though is that healthcare is a huge part of the economy. In a failing system (and yes, it is failing) shouldn't we give his medium of exchange a chance, because the alternatives are nothing gets done and the system continues to deterriate. I am not saying its the best solution to our problem,but its the only one that seems to correct the real problem

all these people in the street with their posters saying that obama decides who dies and who lives IS COMPLETLY NOT TRUE they are lying. 7 years old children holding posters saying " Obama lies Grandma dies. like they had a politic opinion on that " WTF is that ! He's helping the grandma by giving her the possibility to have free services and if she doesnt want them THEN SHE DOESNT HAVE TO TAKE THEM. god

Obama never said that! He met with Iraqi leaders during the primaries and they came up with a "16 month timeline."GOP attacked him for it then Bush agreed with him. Our generals on the ground wanted an additional 3 months. Already our troops have been removed from the major cities. As IF a source called "obamalies" is going to be worth 2 cents!!!

You are obviously not racist , you voted for him ( well maybe not you ) but the point is Obama is helping the United states and instead of seeing that, everyone only thinks about what could be bad in this reform and somehow they transform everything he says into something where people die... If the usa knew his real plan before Sarah Pallin and republican crew started that bad reputation, Obama would still be that hero America waited for.

Wellp, the issue is, people will die, when they ration care. Seniors WILL have COUNSELING on "accepting death". People with cancer, or other serious ailment's WILL have different kinds of care taken away from them, why give jimmy his pain medication, he's gonna die in 6 years.... You don't see whats infront of you. Because you fail to understand that your being controlled. You thoughts themselves are under attack... If you oppose Obama, your a RACIST! Excuse me, I read your (fattyrhys') reply and it made me react.
I want to word out arguments as you suggest but I realize it cannot be worded out better than the man speaking in this video does. Just re watch this video entirely, and understand everything that is said (it took me a while). I do not believe you are an extremist or a racist. What Obama says in here simply provides an answer to all major critics.
So far, this man has been the embodyment of common sense, to me.

I'm not convinced by what you said. Let's put it this way: imagine a president, or any politician, who would not be a liar. What could he do to prove the world he genuinely cares about whatever his causes are?

39:00 - 40:00 he says he's going to accomplish healthcare by reducing waste in healthcare(whatever that means) and the PHARMA industry would pay for the rest because they are getting all these "new customers". Doesnt that mean big pharma really likes obama's plan because its going to guarantee a new market share, sales and profits ? o course. once they get you on one drug, the side effects cause you to take 3 more different drugs.

Healthcare is broken because of government involvement. We need to get the government out of healthcare and pass tort reform. They cannot afford to pay for healthcare in the first place; its also unconstitutional to have them involved in healthcare. They are failing to do the job they were created for like defending us from the invasion from Mexico.

Everything the President laid out last night is right on. I am reading some posts on this clip and trying to figure out where you're getting your information. Congress was more than pleased with the President' plan which is still not been settled -certain issues need to be worked on. The only ones who were against it was the stupid Republicans -as if they EVER cared about our money! What a joke. They don't want their pals on Wall Street to stop their checks coming in for their campaigns.

How many times & different ways does the President have to explain that it's an OPTION? And the heckler is a liar & has since apologized. I read months ago where Obama said that illegal adult aliens would not be covered but concern & discussions were about children because they go to our schools! He's not a socialist -Healthcare reform is very good for the economy and allows competition. As it is pharmisuiticals are running the show.

What's the point of listening to him speak--his words are meaningless.
The only campaign promise he has kept was the one we wish he had broken--to expand the war in Afghanistan.
From promising to give bankruptcy judges the right to modify loans so people could stay in their homes to promising to have no lobbyists in his administration, he has done nothing but lie.
