Hi your videos are very helpful! Can u help me integrate this please?? I dont understand why it either keeps saying too few arguments or syntax :( thanks in advance!!
Hi. Whenever I integrate a function, such as x^2 for example, and I don't specify the limits, I get an answer of 0 instead of the expected x^3/3. I have the same issue with differentiation. When I specify my limits I do get the right answer, however. Not sure why I keep getting 0 when I should be getting a function. Please help.
I'm trying to integrate 3x+6 over the sqrt of 2x^2+8x+3
I follow all the steps, but it says I have too many arguments. When I take out the comma and x, it says I have too few arguments. Am I doing something wrong?
Why, when you entered the functions both as 3X and x^2 and as y2 and y1 did you get a different answer for the area? Shouldn't it be the same since they both mean the same thing?
Can the TI-89 do multivariable calculus? If so, how would you go about doing double and triple integrals? What about vector-valued functions? Also, is it possible to convert a function to polar coordinates?
@kauths25 Press the 'Mode' key, then scroll down until you see an option called 'Exact/Approx' then press the right arrow and select 'Exact'. That should do it!
@mathmergency I found out what I was doing wrong. I was using the "minus" button instead of the "negative" button. Thanks for the help, you're a life saver!
oh my god, you are freakin awesome!! thank you!!!

how would you integrate the abs of an equation? such as x+IxI

For some reason mine won't do indefinite integrals. When I do what you did in 1:58, it keeps saying "Error: non-algebraic variable in expression"

@tkim2008 nvm my calculator was messed up, I cleared the RAM memory and it works now.

which calculator is better?
ti 89 or ti nspire
but the ti 89 is expensive than ti nsipire

@mathmergency hey i have the same problem. i integrated x^2, but i got 2.6667 so I changed to "exact" but it just gave me 8/3

I'm trying to find area between y=x+6 and y=x^2 between x= -2 and x= 3. When i enter - 2 it says syntax error :o( Am I doing something wrong?
dendeanda 1 year ago
@dendeanda Where are you entering the -2? This is the syntax that you want to use:
Function you want to integrate , variable of integration, lower limit, upper limit
so it should look like this on your screen:
integral symbol(x+6-x^2,x,-2,3)
Let me know if you still need help.

dendeanda 1 year ago
@dendeanda make sure u are using - (negative) sign instead of _ (minus) sign, that's the syntax i think u are getting given u follow the instructions
