Watching the Mets win game 6 in '86 was one of the most incredible moments as a Met fan. The other incredible thing was having a photo taken with Gary Carter. I went to bend down for the photo because he was sitting down signing autographs but he stood up, put his arm around me and smiled into the camera like he just won the World Series again. A truly unbelievable moment for me with an '86 Met. I cherish that photo. Rest in peace Gary, you'll never know what meeting you meant to me.

Here's how I can remember this game. I was out with the wife and friends celebrating our first wedding anniversary. The game was on the TV over the bar. I couldn't stop watching. It almost caused our first fight, right there in the restaurant in front of our party guests. Fortunately, the wife has the patience of Job, and knew what she was getting when we got together (crazy Mets fan). After the win the band played New York New York for our anniversary dance. All was well with the world.

There are many World Series games on my list of all-time favorites and this is at the top. By no means am I Mets fan being a Phils and A's fan but for the Mets to be down to their last strike of the World Series and comeback to not only win game 6 but game 7 as well, is remarkable. This is what makes baseball so much fun to watch.
