i just bought an 03 tiburon gt 5sp that already has a racing motor mount, ricing suspension and a k&n cai.. can someone give me some "helpful" tips for the first modz i should apply to the car that are cheapest but most effective for performance and horsepower
6psi is nothing with this turbo setup! i would like to see atleast 8-10psi vs a cobra, z28, any car . judging by the sound, the clutch should be upgraded and so should the turbo to something a little bigger. i have a oem valeo clutch too and dont feel comfortable installing a quick spoolking t3 turbo @ 5-6psi, unless i upgraded the clutch. how does the clutch(valeo) hold up and for how long?

There's no way that Cobra was making that much wheel horsepower. They came with 305 at the crank, which translates to around 270 at the wheels. To add 50 hp without nitrous or FI, he would have needed to have FULL boltons. He likely had a stock '96-'98 cobra and didn't know what he was talking about, so he said it had 320whp since he probably heard that number thrown around and just grasped on to it (320 crank horsepower is what stock '99 and '01 cobras had).
The only way I would be taking these comments personal is if they were well written and thought out. Also if they were saying something I didn't already believe myself.

I park my LS1 Firebird next to:
03 Hyundai Accent 1.6L autox car (there are reasons to choose a car besides straight line speed).
05 Tiburon SE V6 with minor mods which is fun as a daily even without a turbo although not what I would call quick or fast.
87 Mercury Cougar XR-7 5.0L Street Mod autox project car still early in the building phase.
85 Fiero GT V6 just for fun, maybe a Supercharged 3800 Series II swap.
88 Bronco 4x4 and 95 Blazer 4x4.
I appreciate most cars for what they are.

I'm getting dogged by users claiming to have 500+ HP cars.
If they actually have these cars, kudos to them.This means they are in a different ballpark than myself.
Compared to a Lambo, my car is shit.
Compared to a 400+ Newer model Cobra, my car is shit.
Compared to a heavily modified Civic, my car is shit.
I could do this for days.
My car is fast enough to beat a few socially named "Performance Cars" running in the condition that its in.

There's no way that Cobra was making that much wheel horsepower. They came with 305 at the crank, which translates to around 270 at the wheels. To add 50 hp without nitrous or FI, he would have needed to have FULL boltons. He likely had a stock '96-'98 cobra and didn't know what he was talking about, so he said it had 320whp since he probably heard that number thrown around and just grasped on to it (320 crank horsepower is what stock '99 and '01 cobras had).

And as far as my "Crazy long" modifications list goes...
...If you would read the actual list, you'd notice that 90% of the modifications aren't even that major with the exception of the Turbo setup.
My point? Spending a little over a grand on a turbo setup (With a SMALL turbo at low boost) has me beating the three lightly modified V8's.
170WHP + Turbo kit > 250-300WHP V8.
Mustang GT MSRP > Tiburon GT MSRP
...How is this an argument? I spent less...and won the race. Period.

I don't know where you're getting the impression that you beat more expensive cars, but you didn't. Those first two Mustang's can be bought for around $10k nowadays, sometimes even in the $9k range (I bought my 2003 GT back in October with only 39k miles for $12k), and the Cobra you raced (which beat you) is an 11-13 year old car that can be bought for $10-$12k as well. Face it man, you tried to make a "performance" car out of a Korean exonobox..it's not workin.

The Cobra let out before the tiburon passed it, I thought that was pretty obvious. I'm not saying that there was no way that the turbo tiburon was faster than the mustangs, because those were some of the slowest model mustangs that he raced. And the stangs didn't get their "asses whooped"...he BARELY pulled on them. After throwing all that money into his car, he BARELY pulled on a few slow, almost completely stock mustangs..

I have my cobra in the cobra and about 2 years ago bought a 1,000 dollar crx to daily drive haha. I sold it a month ago and literally JUST bought a reliable daily driver. A 2009 mazdaspeed3...car payments again :( but the thing is I keep the cobra as a weekend warrior...so buy a pos daily driver and get ur awesome car! That's the way to do it

Update:
Two videos. One of a dyno showing 550 HP. Not 600...but still pretty impressive. No proof to show it's not just a random clip of someone else's mustang. Cool.
