@willludsgoesham Mark Mcgwire hit 49 homeruns as a rookie, no one else has ever done that. And when he took the steroids they werent illegal, so get the medias dick out your mouth.
@LoveThatGirl21695 Hey there are probably kids watching this video right now, having to read your bull shit. I don't mind your comment, but try to keep it PG 13.
@LoveThatGirl21695 --yeah he may have set record for HR by a rookie, but how legit is that, considering he was using substances all along? Regardless of whether it was legal? Other greats could have surpassed that if juiced also---Frank Robinson hit 37 in his rookie yr wiin mid/late 1950s. McGwuire couldnt hold candle to Frank
@willludsgoesham mark mcguire was good before steroids he just hit farther. he could all ready hit pretty far and his batting avg. was the same after steroids. sO YOUR THE BUM
First of all everyone, McGuire isn't there to yeah Pujols how to hit. He's there to try and pick up things that could be the reason for a slump. Like say he is flying open with his front shoulder, he may not notice it but someone else who is very knowledgable about hitting(McGuire), will notice it and work on fixing it with him.
@leonardwilson85 fuck you bitch he is one of the greats go back to the kitchen and make Mark McGwire and Albert pujols a sandwich since you sound like a pussy with all that women sport shit
Someone mentioned they would take a human kinetics major over McGwire to teach a swing, are you serious. I guess you would take a college student learning aerodynamics to teach you how to fly instead of an Aviator. If you want to talk studies and science in 1998 they said that the angle of McGwire's swing was perfect for Home Runs. That has nothing to do with steroids. It had to do with the swing he developed. His hand eye coordination and the ability to learn pitchers also. Pulhos can learn too
@dvsjay I think that's the point. If you're stronger, you can usually generate more bat speed and power the ball even when it's not completely on the sweet spot of the bat. A wooden bat's sweet spot is like 2.5 inches max usually, so having the power to connect with a ball slightly off the meat can be a huge advantage.
Hey Every1 26 Days left Until Redbirds!! Looking forward to a great season, We are gonna have a tough year without Adam Wainwright but I think we will be able to pull through... Lance Berkman will be a key addition to starting lineup as we will all hope for the best! Lets see Ring 11 in 2011.. Go Cards!!
@jambowowow What's your point? I know more than you about a lot of things but we have freedom. And I am not a big Baseball fan as I am more a fan of Basketball, American Football and World Football. But we all have freedom. I'm pretty sure you think you are an individual or that you are special when in fact you are just the same person I see everyday in this world.
@TheAmerigoCorleone What's my point? My point is you have no room to say that Mark McGwire shouldn't be teaching Albert Pujols. This isn't a contest of who knows what or how much one person knows.
All I am saying is don't comment on a video acting like you know what you are talking about. It's not meant to be rude, I meant it to be more of a constructive criticism statement.
@TheAmerigoCorleone McGwire had 10.61 AB/HR over his career, Pujols has 14.05 AB/HR I don't care about steroids. McGwire is the most frequent homerun hitter in MLB history.
@smithmarke MLB is more scum than McGwire or anyone else that had to go through with the steroid trial because drama queen Canseco wrote a book. MLB was very exciting in the 90s, and they know it. Now they want to disown these great players just because they cared about weight training and getting their body in top shape. The same league banned Shoeless Joe and a bunch of great players on the White Sox and won't allow Rose in Cooperstown.
@Gamebox27 Sounds like you couldn't give a toss about whether someone cheats or not, an interesting viewpoint ! I agree with you about MLB being hypocrites though.
@JohnMarecek oh, nice, i love the cardinals, Pujols is my hero, his number is my favorite number, i am #5 on a lot of different teams now, im jealous of you because you get to do that with the cardinals, and i would do anything to be able to be there
@SadegoGG The good ones like Joe Torre do. The others are hundreds of thousands. Just google hitting coach salary and click on the third link. Let me know what you think.
Joe Torre is a manager, not a hitting coach. Send me your sources. The third link down is an article on Jeff Bagwell becoming a hitting coach and does not discuss his salary. Please, PM me a link with the hitting coaches salaries and we can see if your claim is true. You must know a lot if you think managers are hitting coaches....not. Also, feel free to name a hitting coach in the MLB who's taken an average high school hitter into a good pro hitter.
Because I have looked it up, and I have not found anything that comes anywhere close to what you are saying. So do you admit you are talking out of your ass or do you have sources? Human kinetics show that utilizing kinetic link is the most efficient way to maximize force production, which is utilized through natural movements from the mind and not mechanics. Also, many hitters prior to 1975 (When the first hitting coach appeared) were better than hitters today.
McGwire held the single season home run record for 5 years so ..he's doesn't suck, and pujols isn't on roids, my batting instructor gives him BP and yea , he does tee work for 2 hours a day

@johnwillglass lol like to sound tough on the internet? haha u sir r funny. mcqwire was a steroid user, for that single reason pujols can teach mcqwire! :)
If you PM me some information about yourself i'll give you a coach who will teach you more about hitting in ten seconds than these two guys could teach you in a lifetime. And the guy has never even played baseball before. These guys may be great hitters, but they have never found an amateur legion baseball hitter/college hitter and made them into a great hitter.
Thing about Albert is he understands his role: guy who bats in runs. Ask him and I guarantee he doesn't care the least bit about homeruns. His main concern is getting runners in, that's it...and that's why he's so good. he focuses on one thing.
Oh and if you have any more like these, please post them. I love to see how the best in the game go about doing the little stuff like hit off a tee or in the cage. Shows me what i can work on...
what i would pay just to listen to him talk about hitting for 10 minutes. talk about somebody that knows what their doing, wonder if he would be a good instructor?
