HI. I have four parakeets and I'm just wondering if there is a way to make them stop being so distructive? They seem to like to eat my books and chew up the hard wood floor. I give them lots of toys which they ignore, but they do seem to like the tissue paper I gave them to shred which worked for a while but now they are back to shredding books. Any ideas how to stop this?
Well, you have to consider that the bird is only 7 weels old, so his praticaly a child, when a bird still is a child, they like biting stuff and playing around, but also still doesn't trust the owner. I had the same case of you and i started to gave him little peace of bread, so he could trust me more. For this, you need a lot of pacience, today he has 2 yrs old and plays out of the cage and with me too :D
No, these are actually old birds we had around 3-4 years ago that we sold (trained) to a client. We visited them to help train them again with some new people :)
