@ugirl2 well, evidently not you. ;-) It's a "retro" type thing, you know? Sometimes having limitations actually makes the final product more interesting. ( Beatles vs. most of today? )
3:40 -- Amazed at how idiotic and impractical...And this is NOT a replica of a cassette 4-track if it can't do bouncing, varispeed, flipping the tape over, etc...But this moronic generation won't understand that and be easily duped...And it's ALSO NOT a replica if you have to have that flattened mirror ball to access it...They need to develop age-specific neutron bombs and set them off in every U.S. county simultaneously...Tired of seeing things fixed that were never broken...
@gwugluud Um... Perhaps you should relax and take things a little less seriously? I have recorded on tape and digital, and each does have it's advantages. This app is not perfect, but it can be updated, and is a lot of fun as is. Remember that the MUSIC ITSELF is the most important thing, more so than any media it recorded or mixed on. ( I think the greatest of any decade would agree. )
@fmarkow not tried em yet. There's that one from Line 6, right? Have also heard that some Class Compliant USB audio things can be attached by the "digital camera connection kit" = aka USB in adaptor. Guess I should order one?
The only thing iDislike about my iPad is the proprietary connector. ;-) Instant impracticality!
@VJFranzK YEah, if your into the iPad you should get the connector kit. But sadly I have not had much success. They say with OS4.2 it automaticaly does MIDI. This worked with my small Korg NanoKeys, which was great but not with my Axiom 49, even when it had its own power, said "this devise uses too much power..." I have also tried a Zoom H2, not much success with that either. Hopefully soon this issue will get worked out, without the ability for external mics or controllers, the iPad is a toy..
Waste of my money. Do not buy. Can't believe that you have to wait until it rewinds.

BillieJean900 10 months ago
@BillieJean900 Try the iTunes store.

Does this actually sound like those old portastudios or is it just a look?
robfisher1 1 year ago
@robfisher1 It's just a cheap replica. No matter how much anyone tries, a digital signal can never be an analog signal.

So have you found any input devices that work with this TASCAM app? iRig? Any USB mics?

Cool, looks like the faders need soft takeover though. YES! About the ability to hear the varispeed tape. That was half the fun
Octamed 1 year ago
@Octamed
You noticed the sliders getting away from my fingers a couple times, eh? ;-) Yeah... either "soft takeover" or slide towards value
manual variable speed (and direction!) would be great
I'd also like to be able to "set tape length" (here it is currently fixed at 300 seconds.)
which would allow LIVE LOOPING techniques! ;-)
