my nanday conure is very unfriendly sometimes. he bites and screeches all the time. but sometimes, he will sit in his cage saying wiki wiki wiki bird. & at night, he will say goodnight and say kiss kiss. but during the day, he will bite and screech at everyone.

Banana San you are a cutie pie. : ) I just adopted a Nanday conure from a rescue. Mine is a plucker for now though. He started plucking after his owner died and he ended up in a rescue. :( Hopefully my little boy will be as beautifully feathered as Banana Sun soon!

the cage is very big.

Actually the cage is for more like cockatoo, African gray, and etc...

She lives with Sunny, the sun conure.

i wish my nanday would be friendly.. he's very ill-tempered and i've had him for 7 years now. i'm constantly giving him extra attention and everything and he still won't warm up to me :(

She is a teenager. behaves aggressively these days...

She is very friendly and cute, but bites me a lot.

@BeautifulDisasterADC My conure is a special case. He was abused before I got him (which I didn't know prior to my posting of that comment). We get along now, it's just that he just doesn't want to be touched or picked up. He spends a lot of time outside under my supervision but I bring him in at night or when he feels like he's in danger. He eats a lot of different foods and he's very healthy. Just a little mentally damaged. Thanks for your concern, though.

She is no exception.

My nandy is very loud too.

she screams evey time when she sees and hears me.

Even though I live in condo, no neighbor has ever complains about that since I got her two years ago.

If you and your family are ready to deal with the grating call, I think Nandays make great pets.

Did you know that the USA tried to pass a law to euthanize all Nanday's last February in the USA? Claiming they were a threat to human health, and our survival? Without a Grandfather clause even. To confiscate any Nanday pet upon discovery.

Thank GOD for people like AFA - American Federation of Aviculture for fighting this law while I was unaware.

The sex of most conures is difficult to determine by physical characteristics alone. Hard to tell.

Before DNA test, even I thought Banana-San(Nanday) was Male bird. lol

nandays are the best natural dancers. loud though, too loud for my home, i'd get kicked out of this place if i had one still. but yeah, as far as clown dancing, nanday conures are pure naturals and beat african greys, cockatoos, and their bigger cousins the macaws, hands... err.. claws down!
