Wasn't this a Roman Catholic Church? I have an ordination card for a father John F Mcdyer, does anybody know anything about him ? His my Pops best friend. He was ordained on may 26 1934, he died however on February 10, 1938
I was in one of the last classes to attend St. Mary's. First grade class of '64/'65. My mother, Florence, played the organ at the church while in high school and then again when we lived with my grandmother, Anna, in the mid 60's.
I am doing a geneology search and leaned my great grandparents settled in Coaldale when they arrived from Ireland. According to my aunt, my grandfather was the architect for St. Mary's Church. Can anyone tell me how I can verify that? Does anyone know where the church records are now? Thanks!!
Attended St Mary's from 1960-1965. I remember the "cage" on the back where you went out to get to the bathrooms. I remember the high school kids would lock us little ones out there--and then get into big trouble. LOL now!! I remember marching up the steps singing "when the Saints go marching home" before school pep rally's.
I cannot believe this building is now gone--bummer!

@davidstjude And my Aunt Anna, Aunt Grace and Uncle, Fr John Francis McDyer, were of the FIRST graduating classes of St Mary's.
Interesting site this is. Nice to see all your responses.
Thank you

My father was the priest there for 5 years! A nice beautiful church! I served there as an altar boy every sunday.

Did you graduate from Coaldale, Marian, or PV? Your father was a priest at St. Mary's? Is that what you meant to write?
