It's important to note that without clinical trials you would not have any of the medicine or therapies that are saving people's lives on a daily basis. Homeopathic medicine may be fine for maintaining daily health and treating some conditions but when faced with cancers or other life-threatening conditions I think most people would benefit more from the therapies that have been proven in clinical trials.

It's important to note that treatment levels for certain conditions e.g. cholestorol have been increased to capture more people for drug treatment with statins. It's important to note that statins cause more harm than cholestorol to the body and are unnecessary. If they can't make money from patenting their products DC's will do everything in their power to discredit effective unpatentable therapies

The government will in reality be able to make every medical decision from whether or not you are cleared for a certain procedure or what medications are available to buy. Think Federal Express or Amtrack. If you don't like it and want to switch to private, generally private care costs skyrocket in nations with government subsidized health care and only the rich can afford it. The rich never use government health care.

I find it interesting, considering this video has the work "truth" in the title. Meta-analysis in regards to research in most important. A patient testimonial might be ***decent*** in a qualative study, but not in a quanitative study... which is much more the gold standard in research. This video is full of propaganda.

I too was a victim of Big Pharma, & after a horrible reaction to a prescription med early in 2007 I had had enough & after much research discovered that Cannabis (Medical Marijuana) was the safe alternative to Big Pharma drugs I had been searching for. It helps with pain & depression, can be vaporized or ingested in food, & best of all, it is impossible to OD on, ZERO deaths in recorded history.

2 bad there is rarley pur cannibis like back in the day. It negativley alters your brain chemistry (Amotivational syndrome anyone?), is highly carcinogenic, and affect many people differently. This was very intrereasting, but I would disagree that testemonies are more reliable than double blind experiments. Testemonies can also be used for missinformation and infact much more easley. As they say the devil is in the details. Experiments must be made, but they must be described in great detail so that you can acualy see what have been done, and other experts or even ordinary people can see such practices that abscure the actual effect of the substance, as the cases you described.

Reading vaccines studies - they are funded by the company which made them. When I treat patients as a herbalist (passed my first tests with it woohooo) I will use case studies rather than double blinds.  I always think a case study has a myriad of use over a "scientific" study.

I was amazed when I started looking into the clinical studys dun on low carbohydrate diets. A lot of them involved diets that had maybe 5%-10% less carbohydrate than a normal diet. Of course they came to the conclusion that low carb had no effect on wait, which was the conclusion they were designed to reach. There have been much better studys done since that show the opersit

i think they should amend the laws to allow those who are harmed in clinical studies to receive some sort of financial settlement because too many people are still being severely harmed by clinical studies especially studies based on fraudulent research and these people have no recourse because the only way to participate in a study is to sign away any rights to sue. without amending the laws clinical trials continue to be human rights violations with obstruction of justice.
