  • True story: Brian Cox was originally cast as Aslan's voice but he had conflicts with other projects,so he ended up dropping out. Other actors who tested out were Jason Isaacs, Timothy Dalton, Sean Bean, Gerard Butler, Ian McKellen, and Ralph Fiennes. But to me, Liam Neeson was born to play Aslan.

  • @ryano2099 brian cox? the scientist guy? -.-

  • Liam Neeson's Voice is Similar to Peter Cullen's Optimus Prime Voice.

  • @monienx I know, right?! =D (and Jame's Earl Jones' Mufasa voice, too, of course. But Optimus ftw.)

  • ''If you were any braver, you'd be a lioness.''

  • and for that, your rate just went up 10%...

  • did anybody else picture the scene with Simba and Mufasa rolling around together and hugging, with Mufasa laughing, when Lucy and Aslan were doing the same thing? (with Aslan laughing?) ....Then again, I came here from the James Earl Jones videos, through the Liam Neeson videos.

Btw.... Liam Nesson is the guy the Pokemon Company clearly forgot to cast as Arceus.

  • süper

  • Lucy and I are really...um...like the same person exept that I am a big tomboy and am really opposite on the outside but on the inside, its like the character Lucy is about me =)

  • pahahahahaha I remember this so well!! Xx

And Liam is an amazing actor and a very sweet person!=)

  • ASLAN IS MY HERO !!

  • why didnt they say ''lion'' in movie but said aslan means lion in turkish interesting...

  • - C.S. Lewis wrote The Chronicles of Narnia to defend the Christain religion, he wrote it as a childrens book to intrest Children into Christianity cause most Children don't really pay attention in Church and don't read the Bible but The Chronicles of Narnia intrest Children and they learn about The Bible through it and as they get older most likely turn straight to the Christain Bible being inspired by what they learned from the Narnia books.

  • christ is king.

  • Aslan reminds me of Dumbledore, it's just his wiseness and his tone of voice

  • yawwww ben üye oldum ama nasıl video eklicem .....

  • @marmarisboy100 canım ya:)))

  • i'm pretty sure due to pride and ego. he did want people to think he borrowed alot from the bible, from Christianity. and wanted people to think his stories are completely original!!!! like Tolkien. but seeing how people loved the similarities he gladly admitted it.

  • @joe2mommas the man converted from atheism to Christianity in 1931. started writing the series in 1949. obviously the stories were heavily influenced by Christianity. you don't even have to be a believer to see that. and of obviously he was influenced by greek and roman mythology. anyone could see who aslan parallels. and where do you thing he got the idea of calling the pevensie children sons of Adam and daughters of eve??? dude it's as plain as day!!!

  • con: The Magician's Nephew tells the Creation and how evil entered Narnia. The Lion etc the Crucifixion and Resurrection. Prince Caspian restoration of the true religion after corruption. The Horse and His Boy the calling and conversion of a heathen. The Voyage of the "Dawn Treader" the spiritual life (especially in Reepicheep). The Silver Chair the continuing war with the powers of darkness. The Last Battle the coming of the Antichrist (the Ape), the end of the world and the Last Judgement.

  • @joe2mommas continue: Since Narnia is a world of Talking Beasts, I thought He [Christ] would become a Talking Beast there, as He became a man here. I pictured Him becoming a lion there because (a) the lion is supposed to be the king of beasts; (b) Christ is called "The Lion of Judah" in the Bible; (c) I'd been having strange dreams about lions when I began writing the work. The whole series works out like this.

  • @joe2mommas at first no it wasn't meant to be allegorical. Although Lewis did not consider them allegorical, and did not set out to incorporate Christian themes in Wardrobe, he was not hesitant to point them out after the fact. In one of his last letters, written in March 1961, Lewis writes:

  • @joe2mommas apparently YOU didn't do enough research.

  • @Mr1000Wolfsbane apparently YOU would love nothing for than to throw absolutes at everyone until no one can have an argument while you turn around with your hands over your ears. Yeah...an unpublished fan letter...ever heard of forgery? anyway, most stories follow the same cycle discovered by Joseph Campbell called the Cycle of the Monomyth, which is exactly what happens to Aslan, Gandalf, Darth Vader, and Jesus in one way or another.

  • @Mr1000Wolfsbane and i'm not saying the letter was a forgery, like i said, Lewis only started agreeing with people when they started going crazy about how Christian it was, and like most Christians, Lewis probably wouldn't want to miss a chance at recruiting more.

  • @joe2mommas In 2005, an unpublished fan letter by Lewis was discovered that stated simply, “The whole Narnian story is about Christ.” He created the stories as an allegory – Christ became human in order to save our world, and in similar fashion, Aslan became a lion in order to redeem Narnia.

  • @TurboIX oh and encase you were wondering. the entire the lord of the rings series is an extended allegory for Christianity as well :)

  • @TurboIX lol dude the story was always about religion!!!(Christianity) dude i don't think you know the story at all. you should do your research on C.S .Lewis. Hes the one who said aslan is in deed Christ. he said it in a letter he sent a little girl in reply to the question she had on who aslan really is. were do you think C.S. lewis got the whole aslan sacrificing himself in place for a friend. and then resurrecting. does that ring a bell?? the Narnia stories were inspired by the bible

  • @Mr1000Wolfsbane actually, if YOU do your research, C.S. Lewis completely denied the allegory himself until it became really popular and he himself became born again. These movies don't even care about religion anyway, they know church going families will spend money and fill the seats, get over it.

  • I just saw the 3rd movie and I heard aslan speak like He's Jesus christ or GOD himself. How LAME and what a way to kill a perfectly great story!. It was much better when evil can actually prevail and imperfection of humanity can run it's course. Now you put religion into the story and ruined everything.

    HOW LAME!

  • Aslan-Jesus?

  • now i see what kind of love you feel against jesus that i have never understanded, but listen.. its just a story. just because it gives you comfort, doesnt mean its true

  • I'm not a religious person. To me, Aslan isn't Jesus, or God, or Allah, or whatever-the-hell, he doesn't even have to be a deity. He's just Aslan... and that's more than enough for me. <3

  • @CelesteStorywriter I agree... I think it's stupid to make a fantasy story that is similar to God etc (hell, that's fantasy too). I'm just sad that this kind of stuff is appreciated while the Golden Compass is not. They are both just stories yet religious people boycotted the whole movie and now a sequel won't happen. You don't hear atheists whine or boycot Narnia, do you!?

  • @KuroiiTenshii Oh, I'm sure there are some who have boycotted the Narnia movies. The references to Christianity seem pretty obvious, so it wouldn't surprise me.

  • @KuroiiTenshii

Because atheists don't have anyone to believe in...If you believe Christ is King, why would you proclaim anything else? Why wouldn't you try to dispute others from saying otherwise?

Like if people said "Obama isn't the president" or "The president doesn't exist" or "The flying spaghetti monster is the president" and they were totally serious. Wouldn't you feel the need to correct them? It's one thing if people are joking, but atheists are usually pretty serious about religion.

  • I love Luciiiii

  • i fuckin love Aslan :D ♥

  • @heavyweiight Fuck action. Go storyline!

  • @heavyweiight he does fight!!!!

  • The way Lucy throws herself on Aslan....I will do the same thing to Jesus when I get to heaven.

  • @u2ugly2nv (: me 2!

  • aslan is a god.

  • Liam Neeson is waaaaay better than god xD

  • liam neeson is the perfect voice for Aslan

  • @TheMRgel amenand amen, every time i see Aslan i think of The Lord how much He love us and how much He cares .be Glorify Lord Jesus you are worthy all praise.

  • @TheMRgel THAT'S LIAM NEESON!!!???

  • @TheMRgel You got that right, he is the perfect voice

  • Aslan is a representation of Jesus, who is also known as The Lion of Judah!

  • This made me tear up, the Lord is so amazing...

  • I always wondered who Aslan represented....the Lord

  • Aslan is such a picture of the heart of God towards us. So often we let the fact that others don't believe us or Him stop us from coming to Him, just to throw ourselves on him in love and adoration the way Lucy does, the very way He longs for us to. But He, like Aslan, is not harsh or demeaning or throwing your delay and mess-ups in your face. He lovingly says " What WILL happen is another matter entirely.." He is the One who desires to take our failings and turns it into beautiful.

  • @sf3773 i liked that speech because its true :)

  • @Aldris247 i think not

  • @Aldris247 At least Aslan shows up more than once...

  • @Aldris247 The sun = The lion= Jesus= The world saviour

  • i didn't know cats could grin!

  • All Aslan needs to do is threat people over the phone with his particular set of skills, skills that are acquired over a very long career, skills that make him a nightmare for the bad guys.

  • "If you were any braver, you'd be a lioness." awww. I think he likes Lucy

  • @Amberstar369 In a completely platonic way I hope... XD

  • @Persona100Duh hahah lol i hope so 2

  • I fucking love Liam Neeson's voice.....and I just wanna hug Aslan whenever I see him he's so big a fluffy XD

  • just watched the movie! <3

does anybody know if they'll make a third one?

i know there are more then 2 books haha

  • @ryanbanan I think they are planning to vid all the books, and there are 6 or 7 books???? :L

  • @ryanbanan They're close to finishing, I believe, with The Voyage of the Dawn Treader if I'm not mistaken. Unlike the first two, the film is going to be distributed by 20th Century Fox (maybe we'll get people who actually FOLLOW the books a bit better. XD) and it will be released in the United Kingdom and United States on December 10, 2010. Not long away! :D

  • @Persona100Duh yes! I'm very excited about Voyage of the Dawn Treader! I found out about a month ago and just watching the first 10 seconds of the trailer I already couldn't wait xD

thanks for the response btw! ;D

  • @ryanbanan I actually am too! I didn't particularly like the first two but I'm slowly getting into it. :3 If I tell my best friend (who's scares me a LOT with her Narnia-obsession! XD) she'll probably have a seizure and die then come back to life to drag me along with her. LOL

    You're welcome! :)

  • @ryanbanan actually yes, the third movie is going to be released the next month, you can watch the trailer, they look amazing... you will love the next movie...

You can watch the trailer: watch?v=TcJTrsUdnz4

  • @peterkinsg That makes the two of us.

  • Ow snap Asslan god taken down by a little girl.

  • Liam Neeson rocks in everything.

  • i love aslan and i really cried when he died in first part but i hope he will remain in all 7 parts bec he is the life on the movie

  • @barbiegirl2991 If you read the novels, he's always in all of the chronicles of Narnia books, so the movies that are coming out in the future can never exclude him

  • @phatzky ya your right i just searched the web for narnia and he is in all 7 parts and i m getting the books soon yay now i knew the names of all 7 books and comming movies

  • BI00dyCh33rry. I feel the same way. As you are right, ThePomiget1. Aslan is Jesus to Narnia, he says it at the end of the Voyage of the Dawn Treader. He says to Lucy and Edmund that they must know him as he is to us on Earth. That carries so many messages. I hope I wasn't the only one to almost cry when Aslan died in the first movie.

  • I really like LIAM NEESON even though he's a lion in this film but his movies are all awesome esp. TAKEN. Can't wait for his Clash of the Titans where he play the role of none other than ZEUS.

  • For some reason, I feel goosebumps, as well as a warm feeling everytime I see or hear Aslan's voice.

  • For Jesus & For Aslan !

    <5* =)

  • @ivld

    I agree with you 100% =)

*For Jesus & For Aslan and for Narnia Ofcourse xD!*

  • Whoops, sorry seems like it's not possible to post a link here:))

But if you search Azerbaijan Lezginka on youtube it will give you samples from our dances, especially don't miss the 4'th one the result list, it's my favorite one, sorry:))

  • But now will surely watch it asap. Here's a nice link to a traditional Azeri dance in case if you wonder about this country mentioned in the movie:

Greetings to all of you from Azeri guy;)

  • Hey, guys! Right Aslan means lion in Azeri, which belongs to Turkish family group. Azeri is the language of people living in Azerbaijan. It's a country in Caucasus and located on shore of Caspian sea. Myself from Azerbaijan and speak Azeri:)) I guess that's why he is named Aslan, as it relates to a country near Caspian. We have male name Aslan too:) [note male name Leon in Western cultures;)]. I haven't got time to watch the movie and came around the clip accidentally:))

  • Aslan kinda reminds me of my dog! he is an german shepard cros rotty... woah he is big and fluffy!

  • that is strange cos when I get my GSD im gona name him Aslan - only thing is it means Lion in Turkish lol

  • this is such a beautiful scene. i love it. especially at the perrfect screen capture at 0:30

aslan is such beautiful lion with a resonating voice *__*

  • Aslan is the turkish word for Lion! its funny.

i liked the films and i hope 3 is a good one again!

  • sigh :))))))) best scene ever.

  • fab !! I have found a website to download all the series of novel for free..try this digibooks4u[DOTT]info

  • so we can`t know what would have happened but we can now what will happen?

    that doesnt make any sense...

  • It amkes perfect sense if you have read the books and have a good understanding of the meanings behind narnia... the story is much deeper than ppl realise...

  • Vote against me all you want, you can`t fight logic and reason.

Unless you`re american, then you can call the "patriot act" and all that crap...

  • well i know what allegorical means; i was just asking you what you thought the difference was between the two portayals, and hoping that, after reading my comment, you could explain in simpler terms of your own, rather than being rude about it.

  • explain to me how that is different from an allegorical portrayal of christ. i know he said if jesus was in a fantasy world, it would be similar to aslan. jadis is lilith's descendent btw

  • Nothing directly(far as I know anyways); however, humans are often refered to as 'son of Adam' or 'daughter of Eve'.

  • what does Aslan have to do with Christianity? I forgot.

  • we were talking about Narnia at church when i was a kid

  • i wish more lions were like Aslan

  • this movie is awesome aslan is awesome!!!!!

  • Lion King would be EPIC if redone with this technology.

  • dad is that you LOL that was my dad in fallout 3

  • after this part theres a part were lucy takes out her knife infront of the telmarine army slowly with a evil stare it freaked me out and made me laf at the same time LOL
