  • morricone = emotion unbridled :-D

  • Music belonging to one of the best scenes Leone ever did. That whole execution in the rain/bar scene flashback part is one of my favorite movie scenes ever.

  • Edda Dell'Orso....,the voice of angel. Her album 'It's time to sing ' is well worth a listen. .

  • @monteoly

    Cool.

  • Sergio Leone, with its famous trilogy marks an epoch in Western cinema will always remember, and music

Ennio Morricone makes us live a fantasy world when we see these master sequences, all this must be added the unique voice of soprano Edda Dell Orso

that this song is wonderful, this voice also found in other movies, where he also collaborated with Ennio Morricone

  • I believe in dynamite.

  • Sean Sean Sean !

  • one of the greatest scores from a film, fackin amazin .........

  • Terriffic movie...Even though the ending was very sad with this song.

  • the only thing that makes me proud to be Italian is this man

  • Ladies and Gentlemen Mr. ENNIO MORRICONE, the best!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • "I used to believe in many things, all of it! now I believe only in dynamite" John Mallory

  • géniale!!

  • Wunderbar! Bravo Ennio.

  • i looked this movie my 10year young boy in the 1980 korea.

  • E FANTASTICAAAAAAAAAAAAA !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Take this Mr williams ITALIAN MUSIC RULES!

  • A beautifully crafted, haunting and brilliant piece - a true masterpiece by a true genius!

Sergio Leone played the score very loud on the set of Once Upon Time America, Eli Wallach said that if the same was done on the set of The Magnificent Seven that He would've rode His horse better!

  • awwwww... beautiful !!

  • She's gonna sing at GIARDINO DELLA KOLYMBETRA in Agrigento, Italy on August 21!

  • edda dell'orso come clare torry

    nessun'altra meglio di lei

  • SENSACIONAL, PODEROSO, MARAVILHOSO, FANTÁSTICO!!!! TANTO O FILME COMO A TRILHA SONORA, SENSACIONAIS!!!!

  • hey mezzabotta...

  • "miccia lunga..."

  • @oltreMacondo MICCIA LUNGA O CORTA QUESTA E' POESIA NON MUSICA, E TE LO DICE UN MUSICISTA!!!! CIAO

  • @GAETANOZXC

  • this is a one of a lot things i'm proud to be italian!! Grande Maestro Morricone

  • Best song eva!

  • In these days I had the good fortune to become acquainted with Edda dell'Orso since i played in the same benefit concert in rome with her and other artists. Now she is 75 but her voice is still incredible and unmistakable! She is also a very very kind and generous person.

  • unica..

  • da brividi...

  • quanti ricordi questa canzone... <3

  • this woman's voice makes me cry each time- quite automatically, I can't hep it ...this story is just so strong.

what a great piece of art -

leone and morricone: the perfect ingenious team

  • Another one of those movies that bomb at their release, but then go on to gain a cult following years after the event. Again Morricone is absolutely on the money with every note of his haunting score. Magnifico!!

  • Well said shaunsk! Kudos...

  • So beautiful

  • som sommmmmm!

    som sommmm

  • @kosmonavt1917

"sean sean sean". Coburn's friend. The making of the film talks about the significance of these being the words in the soundtrack, to reflect the guilt that Coburn killed his friend, or the double back-stab back in Ireland.

  • @kosmonavt1917 it says actually: ''sean, sean''

for james coburn's character ...that piece is his theme

  • Oh, yeah I saw the movie yesterday. Sean indeed. Thanks!

  • ADORO QUESTA MUSICA

  • ahhhhhhhhhhh...awesome music by Ennio Moricone!! and great vocals by Edda Dell'Orso.

    I luv this O.S.T.!!

  • Clasicc. Molto bello. revolción Mejicana??

  • stay well away from any love triangle thats my advice lol john had the right idea ,bugger off to mexico and blow stuff to pieces

  • What is your name?

    Sean.

    Ham?

    John.

    (Sean Sean Sean. )

    Perfect!.

  • I think I finally understand now why the lyrics "Sean Sean Sean" are in the song. I looked it up and noticed that John's best friend was credited as Sean Nolan. Is his full name mentioned somewhere in the movie?

  • @Pssybart

In the speical features of the DVD, it is said that Leones wife suggests they include the character John Mallorys name in this particular piece. The gaelicised version of the name John is Sean

  • Davvero bravissimo Morricone...

  • Holy crap!!!.....i was searching for this tune for like 6 years...unforgettable!!!

  • DITTO MAN DITTO

  • This film (working title "Once Upon a Time ... the Revolution" (in Italian, of course) is the middle film in the "Once Upon a Time" trilogy.

  • Gracias, Ennio.

    Thank you, Ennio.

  • the truest revolutionary film ever made.....so honest about every revoultion around the world....inspired many an irishman .....duck you british sucker!!!!lol 1979 warrenpoint.

  • Fantastic Movie,Duck You Sucker is perhaps the best western ever made by Sergio Leone and Beautiful score by Maestro Morricone!!

  • beautifull .... i love morricone

  • they had a kind of threesome I guess sean, john and the girl that s what I got from the finale scene

  • No, No no! Jhon was just fooling around with Sean's Girlfriend, it was just a joke. Sean and the Girl were the couple, and Jhon was the odd man out in the end. You can see it in his flash back's facial expression, he's laughing with them but his smile starts to fade as he realises what's happening.

  • At first i thought it was the other way around

  • What is happening?

  • Well, not sure if you can relate to this or not, but when you're good friends with two people (the three musketeers syndrome) and your two friends hook up, making you the odd man out, you soon realize that your very presence within the group is now awkward, and you shouldn't be there, the friendship is never the same. This has double danger in it if you actually liked one of the friends the other was going out with. The expression and this song captures that feeling perfectly, for me anyway.

  • You have summed it up perfectly. Since I saw the correct ending...last flashback in the field...I have been pondering about it. Clearly Sean was his very best friend and he deeply loved him and I think he also was in love with the girl. Double danger indeed. Thank you for your explanation. I just love this filmscore.

  • My favorite Sergio Leone Italian Western, brilliant performances from Rod Steiger and James Coburn, but the film will be remembered because of the flawless score by one of Europes greatest artists Ennio Morricone.

  • A brilliant piece of music from the master.

    Bravo!

  • sean sean!

  • Sean Sean SEAN!!

  • La miglior composizione del Maestro Morricone!

    FANTASTICA!!!!!!!!!!

    e commovente.

  • m\y first viseted cinema! J and may brother, now brother is dead kiled some army. we have five war for six years . Nice song!

  • 100000000000000++++++++

  • Yes I see ,so the Music is Befitting, So it is quite a Romantic Film with Great Acting Great Music THANKS

  • Sounds Romantic LOVELY!!!!!!

  • Kind of. One of the main characters is haunted by the memory of killing his best friend and being in love with his best friends girlfriend.

  • i went to see ennio morricone in concert and he played this tune , it was hairs on back of neck time , hey davis group thx for the commendation i salute you lol

  • This is such a good pick, I am not worthy of listening to it. j/k. Although on rhapsody, you can download the whole album, listen for free to. It is my favorite Morricone masterpiece.

  • Darren 1673 is obviously a man who truly knows what good music is. I commend you sir.

  • the singer is saying sean sean sean which is coburns name ie john in irish sean , coburn and steiger are are fricking amazing in that movie , compared to the shite out now its in another class

  • it is my favorite soundtrack. i remember first i heard I was really irritated by this Shawn, Shawn, Shawn, wondering what's that, is that Chinese language or something.

I don't get irritated by it anymore.

  • the soundtrack is brilliant one of the best soundtracks around

  • My friends a question.. I remember a whistle version of this song.. I mean, when the woman starts singing, but instead of voice, whistle... haven´t found it, any help?

    Marchello

  • I know what you are talking about,

there was another version, it's here somewhere, I don't know where I found it but it is here somewhere.

  • FIND IT, je je je, when you have the chance, the whistle version is a powerful memory of my beautyful childhood

    Many thanks

  • Morricone = genius

  • genius = Morricone

  • According to Christopher Frayling (famous biographer), when Ennio Morricone came at Sergio Leone's home to play the first piano version of Giù La Testa , miss Leone suggested that it would be interesting if a voice could sing "Sean" during the song.

Thank you MorriconeRocks, you make a very respectful and useful job.

  • Fist full of dynamite :D

  • Whenever you get depressed, drink a six-pack of Canadian beer, then start pronouncing the names of the Canadian provinces with an exagerated Spanish accent. As an alternative, listen to this tune.

  • you can keep your bachs, beethovans mozarts lists greigs etc, this guy leaves them all behind. Brilliant brilliant brilliant and this is his best.

  • I think shumm..shumm is like lalalala

  • it is not sean....it is lecho'n mean sucker in spanish

  • I agree with WinchellB. It's "Sean, Sean, Sean." I love this movie and the music. Morricone is a great master.

  • It can be "Sean, Sean, Sean" or "John, John, John" since Sean is the Irish John. I think they say "Sean" but, you know, it's "John y Juan!", so the debate continues.

  • i have seen a film by Nanni Morretti, in which someone is singing the bigining of that song, it was subtitled in italian like this: " cione, cione..."

  • the film is caro diario episode "isole"but cione cione is not correct vulgar italian is scion scion

  • Sean is the implied name of Jhon's friend back in Ireland, who he judged to kill due to his Jealousy.

  • beautiful.. just beautiful !!

  • ennio edda sergio ...Beautiful italians from the golden age of italy

  • Edda's ethereal voice rises seamlessly to perfection...

  • Beautiful, brings so many childhood memories back..

  • Magnificent song, really gives a mood for this epic western!

  • Morricone deserved the Oscar. Ha meritato l'Oscar.

  • sean sean not scion scion lol..

    its the guy's name

  • Morricon is italian, so we write scion.

  • Scions a name in Italian?

  • No, it's not an italian name, but it's not even Sean... it's simply a sound like lalala.

  • perhaps, but when the main fellows name is Sean, wouldn't it make sense if that was what they were singing. Especially since the tune is played when we see Sean's flashback. Seems like they are saying "SEan, sean, sean. what have you done" right (:? But sure, could just be lalala.

  • We should all not give a shit about the Oscar.

  • Here here Don.

  • i saw this film as child in theater where malcolm x was killed years earlier.its haunted me ever since.thank you for keeping it alive

  • Great music by Moriccone. Ranks along his other greats.

  • Great Great and Great soundtrack!!!

  • wow this is one of the most UNDERRATED WESTERNS I'VE EVER SEEN! One of the best, too!

  • It's the best

  • CONCORDO

  • Morricone è inbattibile. Mitico

  • scion scion

  • that song has haunted my dreams since I saw the movie, thank you!

  • great music. great actors, coburn. tuco

  • Film + bande son = Génial

  • I know only Steigers later work. I know he was famous in the 50s and stuff.

Anyway I thought Steiger was great as Napoleon in Waterloo.

  • His two best performances, IMO, were in On the Waterfront and Doctor Zhivago. He was a seriously underrated actor. He did have a tendency towards ham at times, but hardly obscures his talents.

  • Well even with his bad accent, he did some great acting in duck you sucker. (The way he reacts to his kids death is understated, but amazing at the same time.) In waterloo he was even better. I think that is the best historical film ever made.

  • "The Wealthy, all they do is Talk and Talk and Eat and Eat, and what about the peasants? THEY'RE DEAD!"

  • "And then same fuckin thing happens all over again!

So dont talk to me about your revolution."

  • U know, Rod Steiger did a really good job as a Mexicano Bandit....IMO only Eli Wallach did it better, his character of 'Tuco' would be hard to beat but Rod's 'Juan' is funnier & plumbs depths that Tuco only touched on briedly. Still 'Tuco' was so 'alive' & engaging, a tuff choice between these 2 great characters.

  • not to forget Gian Maria Volonté

  • And the most beautiful vocals....with Edda Del Orso

  • best composer director team of all time.

  • i agree

  • Duck you sucker
