i have edelbrock tes shorties, some 2.5 used tubing and wanting to buy two super 44 offset inlets/ center outlets.....should i incorporate an h-pipe or x-pipe on a stock '91 lb9 TPI (305 w/ over 150,000 miles? ) i know it will sound killer dumped right before the axle but needed input since I've heard cases about lost backpressure being a bad thing.... i want something like the one at 00:33
yes it's possible, BMR makes an upper panhard rod support that relocates the driver's side mounting down about 2" and will allow for up to a 3" pipe to go over the axle there. however, without the PR relocation kit, it's nearly impossible to get even a 2" pipe over there. the kit is kind of expensive though, so none of the cars i've done exhaust on was that interested in running pipes all the way out the back.
it really depends on the complexity of the system. typically, i start at $150 labor, plus parts to do a longtube setup. i do these case by case, with the understanding that they are NOT emissions legal and that the car need not be driven on roads in states with inspections, etc. these systems are hand built with mandrel bends as i do not have the ability to bend pipe. i'm not the cheapest, but i try to make sure it's of high quality with maximum ground clearance.
@mw66nova hey man would love to know how you modified the headman headers to clear the slave cylinder i have had 4 exhaust on my car the best is tru duel flowmasters like the ones you did sounded awesome look no were near as good as your had shortie headers exhaust shop bent did terrible job paid ton of money pipes were not level they did not try to make them look the same tried hooker headers hung really low tried headman would of been great if cleared slave cylinderthanks
that is some real nice work, thanks for directing me to this video, i really hope i can make something work with the true duals, i like the setup on the red iroc with the h pipe, just cant beat the sound of duals. ill make sure to give you credit. again awesome work
did you guys have those made by someone else or did you guys do the welding yourself because i have a 90 camaro with a t-5 and ive had to cut and weld and make my own exhaust cuz nothing fits right but those true duals back look sweet
Hey. I live in Americas Ga. Any chance we can get together and do a true dual exhaust for my 87 iroc? Im hating the single Flowmaster exhaust.

if you've got any video editing software, it'd be pretty neat to add sound clips to each I think. But I woudlnt even know where to start with that.
