Christianity is no more violent than Islam. It is not religion that is violent or peaceful, it is people. Muslims are taught to be violent to defend what they believe, but it is not their religion that tells them to do so - it is the people, corrupted by other people. People do what they have been taught to do. A child with racist parents will be racist and a child with Christian parents will be Christian, at least throughout their childhood and adolescence, usually longer.
