Old carriers serve no military function. If you were at San Diego, you would be allowed to visit USS Midway on the pier for $5. Russia sold a hulk to China that was used as a restaurant by owner. It has no military secret over there.

The Chinese government bought it just for size and design reference. What they will build is slightly smaller than USS Kitty Hawks but the technology will be cutting-edge. They will build 3 to balance sea power with USA. That means they are moden.
