@TheJayEffkay Well, I think they'll say that often because with early returns, certain parts of the state will come in earlier than others, that might skew more in one direction than another. But the predictions are that once more areas come in, the numbers will be much closer. It definitely looks odd at first glance, but it makes sense when you put it in consideration.
If there's one positive, this election showed us how ignorant, blind, and stubborn the right was. Imagine if it was a Democrat/Liberal who was in charged when: 9/11 happened, destroyed our budget surplus, failed on an INCREDIBLY massive level in Iraq, etc. The right would never let it go...
@HalfBornUnicornFetus Absolutely! You can tell how almost giddy these NBC loons are when it looked early on that Kerry might win. They are so excited they are about readly to pee their pants! Remember that Democrat slimeball Bob Schrum telling that robot Kerry early on election night "may I be the first to call you Mr. President" based off totally inaccurate exit poll dat? How satisying that Kerry, slimy Schrum, NBC, CBS and especially those commies at MSNBC had to see Bush win without doubt!
To be fair, FOX basically promoted us Republicans in November. The ratio of Liberal networks to conservative networks is basically 5-1. It was really bad when the crew behind the cameras starting cheering when Obama won. That pissed me off!
@HalfBornUnicornFetus Still, the '08 election coverage was an absolute JOKE. Just because the lib media didn't like Bush was no reason to toss aside any semblance of impartiality and completely abdicate constitutional requirements to be an honest arbiter, keeping politicians on notice. Instead, we got slobbering, drooling & outright cheerleading for Obama. It was so embarrassing. Last year, MSNBC jerks sat around like kids calling Republicans names in wake of devastating Dem losses. A joke!
@redletter2008 well, but there's one problem, FOX is unashamedly conservative and promotes the conservative candidate all the time. So your point about liberals having to be fair is moot when conservative stations do the same.
@phantomsuccour I agree that FOX is not nonpartisan. Still, FOX does not equal or negate the equally nonpartisan tilt (in the other political direction) that NBC, ABC, CBS, CNN, MSNBC, OWN, BET, Comedy Central so on & so forth glaringly have. I believe it is the reason for FOX's success - the need for even just ONE network to take, or politely consider the "other side", different views, etc. I guess at least one network needs to reflect the political views of tens of millions of Americans.
@HalfBornUnicornFetus Also, I don't think the Cartoon Network type coverage we got from the dominant liberal media will be repeated in '12. First of all, Bush is gone & they can no longer make him the primary topic (not that they & Obama won't try; it just won't wash with voters). MSNBC actually got exoriated by the other networks for their abolutely childish & unprofessional coverage of the GOP victories last year. Obama has a record now - a BAD one! Lib antics are no substitute for jobs. Sorry
LET ME JUST SAY THIS IF OBAMA DONT get REELECTED IM GONE GO AROUND THE CITY ANYWHERE AND SAY ""HOW COULD YOU PEOPLE REELECT BUSH IN 2004 and if OBAMA DONT GET BACK IN IM GNE SAY AND NOT REELECt OBAMA ""
This is the first US election that I followed in any great detail. I must have been one of about 10 people in the whole of the UK (including Tony Blair) who wanted Bush to win. There was a real sense among people in Britain that Kerry would win, although in the US, even among Democrats, few believed Kerry could carry the key States needed for him to win the Presidency. I was so glad when it became clear that Bush was heading towards victory; I seriously doubted Kerry's suitability for the job.
@mileycyruscousinchad I am glad that we make up nearly half of the country and there are so few of you here. I am not talking about being a muslim. I am talking about being batshit crazy anarchist.
I am a strong Republican, but I do wish Kerry had won in 2004 now, then we wouldn't have Obama as President. Kerry was a leftist but not anywhere near as dangerous as Obama.
@Leflore12 Senate race is tightening! Last USA Survey poll had Paul up by 15, now it's a 2 point Paul lead. Currently, i live in Alabama, but i might move to Kentucky in a few years from now, and i've followed this race since May and supported Conway since then. Hopefully, he can steal this seat (which was once Wendell H. Ford's) that has been Republican since 1999.
@TatianaSword People voted for the wrong guy and look what happens. I know very little about politics but I know enough to know that BUSH SUCKS! (And Cheney)
@TatianaSword No everything's okay sorry if the comment offended you. I was just being silly but I truly hate bush after what he has done. Not preparing for 9/11;ruining the economy;the Iraq war; torturing prisoners; tapping into phone calls; ties with selfish oil companies; the list goes on and on.
It looks like the Dems have more to lose with the Oil spill. If it continues they lose the house but if they get it under control they don't have nothing to worry about
You're from Cleveland too? So am I!! I've been trying to find Election night 2004 videos forever - thanks! Although he didn't do well, I really liked Kerry.
I agree with you on the affair. John Edwards was an egg sucking dog long before that ever came to light. He did NOTHING for the State when he was in the Senate along with that other loser Liz Dole. I know I lived there, Edwards probably only got the VP nod because everyone knew he was going to lose to Burr BADLY. He didn't help Kerry at all as Keryr lost the state BADLY. This man had and has no buisness in politics. To be fair I know more Republicans than Democrats like that.
I was referring to the seats in play in the Senate and gubernatorial contest. The GOP will be very competetive against Bayh, Bennet, Lincoln, Reid, and ND as well as DEL special. They will net gain 5-7 seats.
the GOP is not getting a net gain of 15 seats in the senate and will possibly gain some seats in the House. But not the numbers they got in 2004. The big realignment will be after the census in 2012 with the new districts. we ned more independant elecyion commosions to draw more compact districts to make them more competitive

Notice the change in tone when he calls a Republican state? Seems alot more lower then his sudden happy term for a Democratic call.
