Ah, just the type of instructional video I've come to expect from the military... Glad to see that the lack of quality in military instruction videos hasn't changed over the years. How on Earth did this beat out "My New Non-Rate"?! That video was actually funny.
well maybe the LDC should go to the Marine Safety Lab in New London CT and give them a good briefing on how to act. I was there 3 years and what a horrible place to work. Especially under MSTC Sean Baker. All he did was school work and walked around flexing like he was the next Arnold. I should have asked him he needed someone to oil him up. I did 7 years, so I have a pretty good idea. Got out as an E-6.

We do have officers and I don't know what it's like to be an officer but they have to get a college degree either before they join or they can apply for the CG Academy and go to school on the CG's money and then they send you out to the fleet once to graduate and you are usually in charge of something.

So liberty would be from 5PM to 8AM during the week and then the weekend is considered liberty as well. Early Liberty would be in the case that the Commanding Officer lets everyone at the unit off of work before the set time. Usually this happens on Fridays or after a special event or something. Make sense?

I think it's because the people judging it didn't understand it. However, this is the crazy part, the LDC were the people who put on the contest and they also do LAMS.
They were just doing a LAMS class at my unit and I walked by and saw them playing my new non-rate. I asked them about my video and they didn't know about it except one. You are correct. Know this, we made this video based upon the 28 leadership competencies in the USCG. We brushed on ONE thing which was personal conduct. A person who "..dictates his own conscience..." within the rehlm of making himself look okay during the workday is just a small thing, but it changes the way people look at you, thus making you somewhat of a leader. kyle, i think you are misunderstanding the point here. militray heirarchial authority usually makes people not think for themselves. i was in the coast guard for 4 years and experienced so much leadership garbage it made me want to puke. looking a certain way or following orders for the benefit of team is not leadership. leadership is not dictated towards the idea of team or authority. the coast guard and other military doctrines are the opposite. they control how people think.
