  • very nice (:

  • Really great playing! Just bought a Microkorg and have been browsing for inspiration. Thanks!

  • oh wow man...way great techniques of play...for this person, any keyboard will sound awesome !

  • i would love to know what scale ur useing on this solo

  • @gwood555 It's a G Minor pentatonic with some sweet accidentals.

  • This is awesome man,,wow..i am blown. Gotta get one now.

  • very cool ...

  • That was so awsoooomme. God I wish I had longer finger. I can see your top hat in the shadow Lolzz!!

  • SEXY

  • straight out of an 80s porno.

  • Shine on you crazy diamond :D

  • what do u need to hook this up to mac book for garageband

  • In all of the demos I've seen for this thing, everyone seems to be mainly utilizing "funky" sounds that seem as though they're straight out of an '80s movie.

What I'm looking for is more of an ambient, etheral sound. I make very dark music (death-metal-oriented) and want a powerful, almost angelic-choir-type of backdrop. Does this thing do that? If not, might anyone point me toward one that does?

  • @SeedsOfHatred No it doesn't is the short answer - this is a fun gimmicky keyboard with synth sounds and lead sounds for dance and funk music mainly - lately it's been used in lots of indie bands, as that sort of vintage sounding synth. You need a proper synth - your cheapest option is the korg x 50 which is really cheap, but has some great pads and choirs and meatier synths. If you have a bit more money you could go for the yamaha mox or korg m50, which would have all the sounds you'll need

  • @oysterlovers Much appreciated; thank you.

  • @oysterlovers False.

  • @SeedsOfHatred If you listen to bands such as The Word Alive or Asking Alexandria(shit band) you can make their sounds with this.

  • @SeedsOfHatred Just use vst. There are lots of airish angel-like patches for various vst

  • @SeedsOfHatred you would like something with more voices (4 is just to little for great pads). Also I guess a rompler would suit you more. I'm thinking of a D50, M1, etc.

If you like minikeys why don't you check out Korg's Microstation (or as a cheaper alternative, the MicroX). Very very neath sounding rompler !

  • @SeedsOfHatred Check out Absynth 5

  • @SeedsOfHatred

    check out waldorf blofeld

    great on ambient

  • @SeedsOfHatred

uhh actually it does do that id wtf that fools talkin about i have a microkorg too

it has some ambient tones on it and some orchestral tones on it if thats what youre looking for

  • THAT WAS AMAZING, so much props

  • KAWABONGA

  • you are a beast!

  • I like your turtle neck :)

  • I just got a microkorg like a month ago and now that i don't have school I have more time to play it. But most of the time i have no idea what the fuck im doing haha. Is there like a beginners guide out there where you can learn all the tricks or do you kind of have to teach yourself?

  • I had one of these - went and gave it to the ex - damn!

  • hi great vid! how did u assign the modulation wheel to change the speed of the notes?

  • Downloaded this and is now on my Ipod.

  • this is my fav video on youtube right now, awesome playing

  • who said that synth playing doesn't have soul? somebody who haven't seen this vid yet great one mate

  • (In my Borat voice) Very Nice!

  • One of the best Microkorg play on Youtube O_O

  • you sound like derek sherinian

  • How do you record this on to adobe audition, I also use adobe audition for my guitar running it through my POD X3 live, but how would this work>? Would this go through a pod or something seperate?

  • Wicked good! Quite possibly one of the best synth solos that I've seen in awhile. You're timing with the pitch and mod wheels was rock solid.

  • this is ossim sauce man. i have a microkorg coming in the mail and i can't wait to make sweet music jesus bombs with it.

  • holy shitt

  • Great solo, and I love the shadow of the top hat. It makes the video cool.

  • @albatros777 hehe - its not a top hat, it's one of those neck sweater things and I have the collar up !!

  • @oysterlovers haha,

You should get a top hat for a shadow for your future videos anyway.

  • @oysterlovers lol'd

  • @oysterlovers LOL!!! HAHAHHA

  • i can only see the shadow of your hat but it looks pretty sweet! haha

    lovin the solo too!

  • great synth solo! what stand do you have the microkorg on?

  • Dude. THIS IS AMAZING. I love the grove going on in the back.

  • FUNK YEA! sweet, love the groove and use of modulation + pitch, nice filter on the mod wheel

  • god damn. wish I had an MK instead of my R3 sometimes. The MS2K engine just has a sweet vibe to it that the radias engine lacks.

  • cool

  • sounds very catchy good job

  • Groovy! Thanks for sharing.

  • This fucking claps.

  • Okay I'm planning to buy a synth, either this one or the microkorg xl, but i'm new to the whole thing. I was wondering, is the drum loop coming from the keyboard? or is it from fl studio or something - i know it sounds stupid but i'm confused

    thanks

  • @humblelaurie it doesn't sound stupid - the drums are not from the synth, they are a sample from a CD, and then I multi tracked different sounds from the microkorg. Get the XL, I've heard it and it's great, and has better keys than the first microkorg.

  • @oysterlovers ah okay, so it isnt possible to get drum loops on either the microkorg or micrkorg xl? thanks for the help :)

  • @humblelaurie well not on the microkorg, I don't know about the XL

  • Comment removed

  • @Apathesis0 no. just not true.

  • @MaxJNorman My bad. Misread something about the MK XL using MMT and the MK using DSP.

  • @humblelaurie not possible on either.

  • ..wow man.. that's awesome!!

  • when music makes you envision a fat man, going on a fun quest for a ritchious packet of noodles, then you know you've done your job right ;)

  • Dude, that's one nasty beat! NIIICE

  • hoooooowooo!!

    Groovy

  • haha this is unreal!

  • i find the keys amazing to play they're smaller so i can get far more rang outa mine and i love how puchy they are. just takes a bit to get use to . great synth :P

  • @doom705 Totally agree, I struggle to play piano now after playing my korg so much :D

  • I can only hope to ever get this good. :)

  • awsome....just awsome. there is nothing else to say other than RESPECT. i really want to buy one of these. im hoping to buy one today...

  • wow... now i have a neckache...

  • what setting r u using? or is it too edited to explain?

  • FAT

  • does the kicrokorg have a loop button?

  • nope

  • omg i can see you shimmy and shake in your shadow, youz gettin down dude! roflmao! awesome!!!

  • Man, that's nasty..in a good way.

  • That's amazing. Inspirational for synth. I can't waut to buy one of these. Keep it up.

  • Wait*

  • so!id

  • hey! im a producer and i need more sounds to develop my creativity, i need to knw if i can use the sounds on the microkorg xl on a DAW like Reason4? if i can do i need a Mixer/Sound car? sum1 plz answa and if yu knw any other way let me know thanks!

  • yeh u can

  • Best Microkorg demo I've seen here

    Thanks

  • you r friggin good son!!!!

  • MY aim for this summer, buy a micro korg, and be able to do this shit, then i don't care if i get hit by a car, this is my new life ambition :L

  • lets see how long that lasts

  • good shit men;]

  • best microkorg use on youtube... much better than the talentless teenage dudes who can't play anything so they buy the MK to make "awesome trance soundz". True synth player.

  • Must feel cool insulting teenagers who play synth. Aye

  • I think so. The man speaks the troof.

  • Awesome

    nice sound!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Could I plug one of these into my guitar amp and use the vocoder and stuff?

  • You mean could you plug a audio generator into a simple speaker? of course... - see those guitar-size jacks coming out of the back?

  • PROTIP: Notice the tophat this guy is wearing in the shadow.

  • lol

  • that's my hair !

  • @oysterlovers ;) some people even wear hats in the sun ;)

Cool solo by the way :)

  • @imontrial he must be rockin' the flock of seagulls look

  • @imontrial head phones

  • @imontrial Yeah, You're seeing the cuff's of his sweater and his head. Note the _| |_

  • I came.

  • I'm planning to get one but i still can't define what i want. The credentials are Juno D, X50, Microkorg Xl, GW6 or M50

  • I had the Microkorg, now I bought a Micron... Trust me, a Micron the price of the Microkorg is like buying a ferrari the price of a corolla. MK is good, Micron is f'in awesomely better

  • is it possible to use it with cubase? and if yes, how?

the xl version is more expensive than the smaller version, what is the difference?

  • works for me - and I know plenty of professional musicians that use it all the time - the new version of audition is amazing

  • actaully most professionals use protools

  • Nice playing there. Thinking about getting one of these. How do you rate the MicroKorg?

  • The thing about it is - it's great fun - it's never gonna be enough to use as a full blown synth, but it's cheap enough and has great sounds (but small keys) - my advice is get the new version that Korg have just brought out - it has proper size keys and sounds amazing - Korg microkorg XL - plus the vocoder is fun as well and sounds better than my 3000 euro yamaha motif !!

  • Thanks for your help, I'll have a look into getting an XL then.

  • @chaza1001 Also, the more I'm seeing people work with these, the more I'm seeing how great it is for funk. The microkorg seems to have that down! lol.

  • BOOGIE DOWN!!! lulz

  • HOW DO YOU GET SUCH GOOD AUDIO QUALITY? Did you record it to your computer using the adobe software you were talking about in the description? If so, HOW did you record it, and WHERE did you get the SOFTWARE?

    Thanks.

    AWESOME jam, BTW... :)

  • Thanks very much - I record the stuff on adobe audition - whilst playing on my digital camera - then I go on to windows movie maker and import the audio on to the film and mute the camera's audio and try and sync it up - i got adobe audition from a friend - it's just like cubase or reason or whatever - recording software

  • Well, cool!

  • nice one man.

i prefare to use the keyboard on my yahaha dsr-2000 via MIDI and turn down

    the volume on it.

    keep up the good work.

  • This is incredible - nice work man

  • That is superb...5 stars!!! Amazing how you get your hands across the small keys, wonderful playing and great sound

  • hey dude how do u loop and play over shit on a microkorg? cheers for the vid, be good to get a reply ? cheers

  • Thanks - but I'm not looping with the microkorg - the backing was recorded before using Adobe Audition recording software. All the sounds are from the microkorg except the drums, which is a sample. I don't think you can loop and play over, although if I'm wrong I hope someone puts me right !

  • somebodys new years resolution to return your Mk :)

  • what solo patch you using??? love it man, I;m inspired nice job!

  • thanks a lot - it's A 45 - if you use the modulation wheel you get a really cool tremolo sound

  • Uber cool :)

  • The bass growl makes me grin... berry nasty... berry nice!!! Always listen to your stuff...

  • thanks very much !
