love my R9 and as for the people who bitch about the spring needing replaced so often?i replace the springs in my 1911's too really is a sweet pocket pistol, less recoil than my Seecamp .380 and much better trigger just my 2 cents
This gun comes with instructions that say to change the recoil spring after 200 rounds. I am up to over 400 rounds already, and never had a FTF or FTE. That recommendation is apparently quite conservative. I have the "Stealth" model, and it shoots just as well this week, as when I first got it.
The purpose of this gun was to be the smallest 9MM on the market. If you want to have a 9MM instead of a .380 in your pocket, and you want the smallest one around so you will be most likely to carry it at all times, this is the gun.
That loooonnngggg trigger pull reminds me why I sold my Ruger lc9 after shooting only 150 rounds. I got rid of it because my hand started cramping because of the trigger pull being so far back. Couldn't take the pain of the cramps so I sold it. Bye bye Ruger lc9 and every other real small conceal weapon made out there,
Best fit handgun I've ever owned, or even had in my hands for that matter. I own 2 Ed Brown 1911's (which are incredible), Colt Special Combat Competition Series 1911's, and several other high quality firearms and I can tell you people doubting or leaving negative comments you are horribly wrong. This pistol shows what quality craftsmanship and precision machining can do. I think that most of you people cant justify the cost, but if you could, you wouldn't be talking bad about these.
I'm all about quality in my firearms and am willing to pay for it.......but I find it hard to believe there is a design that makes u change a recoil spring(I'm assuming recoil spring) every 200 rounds. this would be unacceptable in a $150 dollar pistol. If this is true, this pistol needs a redesign. this just cant be true. that would be stupid
Nope it's true, Rohrbaugh recommends a new recoil spring every 200 rounds. In other words, a new spring every time you go to the range if you shoot a lot. I hope they supply you with a sack of springs when you buy one, can you imagine having to order them all the time? Stupid fucking gun. And they're only ELEVEN HUNDRED DOLLARS LOLOL.
@IzInAZ You clearly don't understand gun design when it comes to tiny guns. The high wear rate on the spring is the result of designing a gun so small and light that the slide puts a beating on the spring. Sure, redesign the gun with a larger slide, but then it's no longer a tiny gun, is it? It's a $4.95 spring, no big deal if you have a job. One spring is the price of a pack of Marlboro's at 7-11.
do any of these whinny asshole accually own a r9 because there not pieces of shit, yes they are expensive but so are bentleys.... yes they need a new spring after 200 rounds but that is minor these guns take alot of beating for being the lightest and smallest 9mm luger on the market. so shut the fuck up cheap basterds
@kowskiman I dunno...I can shoot a lot more than 200 rounds with my LC9 (also a small 9mm gun at just 17oz) before I have to replace the spring. Oh, I also get 7+1 rounds not 6+1, can shoot +P ammo and it's also pocketable all for around $425. The R9 sure does sounds like a Bentley...pay a lot for it but it needs constant attention to keep working correctly. I want a workhorse gun, not a work of art gun but to each his (or her) own.
@devcon67 What constant attention? Mine is running perfectly after 5 years and I bought it used. If I wanted to carry a 17-ounce gun I'd just carry a 15.8 ounce S&W 442 or my 23 ounce Model 649 .357.
@kowskiman theres a difference between being cheap and being smart. smart is spending 1400 on a 1911 because its a handgun you can fight with, not some yuppy boutique handgun that is more of a status symbol than a practical self defense option. i give it that its small, hell its the smallest around. but why buy a handgun you cant train with? the felt recoil is too high to be able to be effective on multiple assailants. hell the mag heel catch makes it slow on the reload too!
@LeaveItToBeaner You're giving advice about what's smart and what's not and you can't spell or use a shift key. What a joke.
If you can't shoot a Rohrbaugh it's because you haven't practiced enough. Or you're just a bad shooter. You and your mid-priced $1400 1911 and your multiple assailants are a laugh.
@JohnBT333 you're a fake ass gear snob. end of story. the R9 is made for people that dont think they need to train. you know, the same kind of assholes that think buying a 300k ferrari makes them an F1 professional driver. till you hit a brick wall
Way to much money for the gun you receive. Bad sights, constant maintenance, stupid mag release, not the greatest trigger, replace the recoil spring every 200 rounds. The money you spend on this you could a top shelf snubby, and possibly another pocket gun as well. The gun that is going to mop the R9 all over the place will be the Sig P290 9mm, a real pocket gun coming from the company that boasts "To hell and back relibality."
@TheBVRTV Your parents suck, sorry. Thats abuot 99% of whats wrong with this world. I have a 7 year old daughter and she loves to shoot with me. Be safe no mater what you get.
Can you really justify 1200 for a gun that can do nothing more than one that costs 300? I just saw a commercial for Dodge, it was like the levis commercial where I did not know what they were selling, a media center or a car, levis or teen soft-core porn, a gun or status symbol. This gun may be well finished and have perfect edges, but it does nothing that a fair priced gun does the same. So all guns were junk before this marketed thing appeared? I think not. Its a status symbol that’s it.
@wezskid Yaa, I read the comments, Not much about points where I was wrong, mostly just clap trap character assignation, that’s fine it makes me believe I must have a good base on my points or they would be quick to point out where I was wrong. I have over fifty guns, and that’s down from 132, and I can tell you elitism runs everywhere, the SW9ve is given a hard time, but its really a good gun for the money, I have 250 in with 3 mags for a SS 16 round gun that has 1k rounds with no FTF or FTFs.
Save your $ folks and buy a gun that you can not only use but that you can sell. These guns will come down in ten years to a more reasonable level, but why wait, it offers nothing that other manufactures don't offer at much better prices, and if you by used you can save even more. I pick up used guns all the time and if I don't care for them I resell and every time make a few dollars for my trouble
For the same money, you can buy a LCP,TCP, T85, Kaltec to name a few, good reliable guns in 380.38.9mm and get 3-4 guns for the same money you will spend on this one. So you can have one in your bedroom, car and two other places for back up for the price of this one gun, is that reasonable? I like Vets and Mustangs, but would never own one becausse I can have 2 corollas, that get 40 MPG and have a much better reliability recorod. If you want to blow money, this is the gun for you.
Fist off scooby, this gun is to small for 9mm, every video show it pinching the shooters hand, Second it is not misinformed, I have colts, AKs and ARs to name a few, and if I had to depend on one, the ugly cheap stamped AK will beat the finly finished Colt AR any day of the week, you are confusing finish with reliability and these have their own reliability issues. I am not saying it does not work, but for 250 vs, 1000 you can buy a gun that will do all this one will do and maybe better.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
Over priced POS. People who pay that kind of money for a gun are out of their mind. Much better guns out there. I picked up a SS taurus TCP and it has not had a FTF/FTE yet. And for 250$ I could buy 4 for the price that you pay for this POS.
@edteach2u That is a very simplistic, misinformed, and ignorant review of this handgun. There is absolutely no comparison in workmanship and quality, let alone a 9mm to .380 caliber, to a Taurus.
@scar2783 If you want a gold plated framing hammer, its up to you, but don't tell others you are getting something for your money. this gun is over priced plain and simple. You can talk about how polished it is, but it does nothing to imporve the job it is designed to do. Taurus, Ruger, S&W, Walther, Bersa have guns that do the job this gun does, and have done it better for almost 100 years in some cases and for a third the price or less. I have several guns,
@edteach2u A ppk American pre S&W and its as good as it gets, size is small and quality is the best, A west German PPKS that is a good gun, and a Taurus 709 that is as small as I would feel comfortable going on a 9mm, What’s next a 3 oz 50 cal? Crazy. This gun is designed to hit a target market of people who want to spend more money on something than its value because they can and owning it states this. .
@scar2783 Look at the old guy shooting, he can bearly handle this gun, he has to reset his grip every shot, yaaaaa great gun alright. Get a gun you can shoot and handle, not some hard to hold, over priced POS that the king with no clothes says is great because it must be it cost so much, you need to invest with madoff he was the best also and ended up killing more jews than hitler. LOL
I've owned an R9 for 2 years now and it's a fine gun. Reliable and powerful. There is nothing else available equal in size, quality and reliability. For a pocket pistol it is quite capable. Take a look at one, up close. Fire one. You just might buy one (if you can afford it). It's not an inexpensive gun. It's not a cheap gun. It's not a cookie cutter model that you see at every gun show. Once you spend some time researching this gun - you'll understand. Ed - it might not be for you.
@dan0421I have looked at it, And what I saw was a gun that was priced about 70% over its real value, inflated artificially to pander to the look what I have crowed. It has had some issues if you read the reviews. It is too small IMO for the 9mm, makes is hard to control. concealability is good, but the cookie cutter comment is puzzling, so your gun is different from others of this maker? There is a reason companys copy the 1911 its an exclent design. Money is better spent on another gun. IMO
@edteach2u Real value is what people are willing to pay, and it's the same as street price. The street price of this gun is around $1000. Given it's construction, materials, and quality, and the fact there is no other 9mm this small - the market pays $1000 so it's real value is $1000. I have one. It's not hard to control. It's the most accurate pocket gun out there. There is no other 9mm this small, so it's not a cookie cutter gun like all the other $250 small guns out there. My opinion.
@dan04211 I have found people who own someting are not reliable in their opinions, I sell any gun I do not like and will report it as such. I have read all the bias against the Sigma, I went to several gun shows, held it and it fit my hand like no other gun. I got it for 250 OTD new after the rebate. 16 rounds, SS slide and BBl and not one FTF/E Thats a value. I have a Glock 19 and its a good gun, but it cost 700 new and the grip is not as good. Trigger on the Sigma stiff and a bit grittie.
@edteach2u Well I'm sure everyone would agree that the owner of a product has much less experience with that product than a window shopper. No argument there! I've also found that postings on the Internet by non-owners are usually negative either because the poster has a similar product from a different mfg, or the poster has ruled-out the product for some reason and needs to reassure themselves of that decision. Glad you've made some good deals.
@dan04211 I think that people that own a thing can give an unbiased reveiw and a biased review. This is why I would go on a forum and ask those who have seen it but not purchased it. Most of the good reviews are only from owners, It would not be reality to think that people who spend 1k on a think will not try to see it as the best thing in the world or they have to admit they did a stupid thing. People do it with much larger purchases than this.
@dan04211 This gun is for a pourpous, it is not a historical artifact that you can sit on your mantal and show off to the neighbors. Does the gun go bang every time you pull the trigger, can it be hidden, if it fits the pourpos, than it works, I need a hammer to put on siding on my home, but to have one that is engraved and costs 1k is unreasonalbe. There hamamers that do the same job for 23 and there are guns that do the same job as well or better for 300.
@dan04211 I used to be like you, I bought the best, I was an Audophile, to name one, and it finaly struck me, the sound that I was supposed to get was so little if any different out of the 800$ speaker over the 95$ speaker that I was wasting my money. Most of the people paying the top end were trying to prove something to someone else. Then I cant count the times I paid for the top end and it borke down much sooner than the medium end.
@dan04211 The Rutabega is over priced pain and simple if you can not understand this then you are the demographic that this company targets. People who can not distinguish value vs hype. When a company makes tie tacs and engraves your serial no, on it, it is targeting people with identity crisis. True if someone will pay 1k for a hooker that is the cost, but not to be confused with value, its just not there my friend. AKs are better guns than the M16 because of lose tolorances.
@edteach2u: I dont know much about this handgun, but I was really surprised to see how expensive it was. Personally I am not sure if I would own a Taurus, but either way, there are a lot of other decently priced pocket pistols, I have been hearing a lot about the new Ruger 380, but haven't had the opportunity to fire one yet. Either way, I don't see myself buying one of these even if I had the money to purchase one.
@tonydelacruz45 This gun has no value for the money, it is all flash and hype. I looked at the ruger LCP a good gun, but only one mag and no hold open device. The taurus was SS with HO device and extra mag and carrying holster that looks like a PDA holder. All for 289, great value. I have put three hunderd rounds through mine with out a problem. 9mm is not comfortable to shoot in this size gun, look at all the videos, they all complain about pinch or jump. And you get all that for 1k LOL.
@edteach2u The Taurus is a POS with cheap steel, sloppy tolerances and poor quality control. I own two, and neither one was up to par out of the box. One rattles like a baby's toy when you pick it up and you're lucky if you can get it to index the cylinder properly for your next shot.
The other one had a sight loose and a mashed cylinder head that required repair in order to load rounds into two of the chambers.
The Rohrbaugh, on the other hand, is solid reliability.
@Binky40SW lose tolerances, wow so Vietnam kicked our ass with a lose tolorance POS called the AK and the Afgan rebbels are doing the same today with the same POS that rattles. I guess if the GIs had 1000 dollar Rohrbaughs they would not be getting their ass kicked over there today? You rube, get a clue and quit talking about things you know little or nothign about.
@edteach2u Tell me when you shot the Rohrbaugh? I doubt you have, the rohrbaugh is built like a custom made 1911 as for as quality goes. To even mention a Taurus in the same statement as the Rohrbaugh is purely ignorant, not that they 'taurus'are bad guns, they just do not come close to comparing with each other.
@streamfisher1 It is ignorant to buy a gun for self defence and pay 1k because it massages your balls and nothing else. Accura just had a commercial that showed silver dust rubbed into the wood of their dash. Whoop ditty doooo, My guns, go bang when the trigger is pulled, just like yours, and because someone rubbed it on their ass for an hour does not do a god damn thing in reality but give a woody to small dicks.
@streamfisher1 No your the troll, and keep wasting your money it affects me none. Throw it in the money pit and keep buying over priced crap. You obviously do not have a life or you would not have to make yourself feel good by wasting money of little dick goods. LOL
@edteach2u Anyone want to make a pool on when this company goes tits up? A few people who have to spend this kind of money on a gun that does not deliver any more than a gun half or one third the price is destin to die in the free market. And in this economy to be sure.
@adrianrubi - The company recommends that the recoil spring be changed at 200 rounds. They cost a whopping $4 a piece. I bought 5 of them. Again, a pocket gun is NOT a gun to be shot all the time. To paraphrase Mr. Rohrbaugh in his youtube video, "...it's a gun to be carried a lot and shot very little..." As an avid handgun shooter of over 30 years and a 26 year FULL TIME law enforcement veteran, I have to say this is the best pocket gun/back up gun that I have seen yet.
@scar2783 A pocket gun is absolutely should be able to support being shot all the time. Maybe not 200+ rounds a week but it should hold up to average shooting. I shoot 100rnds a week through my PF9 and cycle my carry ammo every month.
@scar2783 BS, Mr Rohrbaugh? are you blowing him? If you have to buy a spring for 200 rounds its a POS, thats of shit for limbaugh listeners. Give me a freaking break, So this guy puts a fack crest on his gun and some gothic letters and prices it 4 Xs the going rate of a Ruger or Taurus or even twice the over price of a colt mustang and you try to tell us its the best you have seen, well you must not have seen much. This gun is a joke and for that kind of money I could get a good gun pay rent.
@scar2783 I have a colt, 1911 I picked up from a Col. estate, it was made in 1943 and It has the original springs and it works like the day colt put it out. Thats a gun. A gun that every one has imitated even the Chinese. That is time tested, not some gun that is priced at 4 times the compitition and has to have springs changed every 200 rounds. Some people just like to feel like they are part of something and project it on a marketed item, car, stereo, gun, fred thompson used a trophy wife
@scar2783 This kind of money and you have to replace the spring. What a joke this gun is. Look at them on GB they are not flying off the shelf. I have a colt pocket pistol that is almost 100 years old and it has the original spring. To say that it is not to be shot much tells a lot about this piece of shit and I do mean SHIT. I could buy a PPK that beats this gun all hollow and a high priced hooker and have money left over. I guess you rudabega buyers like to look at your POS gun and jack off .
@scar2783 Are you kidding me, a gun that sells for 1200 and you have to replace the spring in 200 rounds, they could not put in a quality spring for that kind of money? What a hunk of shit.
@wolflair55 Nice try attempting to leave a message edteach2u & jehovah1975 with a new screen name. Piss off and get a life weirdo. Now you're blocked with this screen name too.
@adrianrubi I read some postings over on the so called Rohrbaugh forum. It is funny and typical of a tea bagging mentality to over look the mind numb stupid statements of those who back you and pick on the most minor of things of those who do not. But what do you expect from people who spend four times what something is worth? They have a vested interest in fooling themselves and others that it was a great buy. I am not posting because of those idiots, but for people who need to know better.
@GunGuy0 If they ever release it, it will be interesting for sure. Although, the Boberg XR9-S is still a heavier gun at 18oz. , vs. the Rohrbaugh at 13.5 oz.
@scar278 I still have yet for any of the rubes to tell me just what part of this gun makes it worth four times as much as others. I get the Ferrari vs Yougo or some such clap trap but no real substance. Its like arguing with a Christian that runs around saying I have my bible I have my bible and ignores scientific fact. Well the fossil evidence tears up Genesis and common sense tears up the arguments for this gun. If my guns go bang every time the trigger is pulled and is as accurate, Y this gun
@wezskid Really?, I still see you can not defend your posistion. You are like the Christian or religious people I debate, they run away screaming how fucked up I am, its not an argument scooter, its called an ad hominem attack and is used when your argument lacks any credibility.
@edteach2u It doesn't matter if you're right or wrong, it's your presentation. I'm not even from your country but you seem to be just a typical dick who has nothing better to do than to bitch about shit, and attacks people with a different point of view/opinion. Way to feed into the American stereotype mate.
Also, your spelling and grammar is horrendous! Hope you're truly not a teacher of any sort.
@wezskid It is not a right or wrong position, it’s an argument that this particular gun does not give anything for the money paid. If you can’t get by my presentation then go find someone to stroke your dick and tell you a bed time story. So I have nothing better to do than bitch and you have nothing better to do than bitch about a guy who is bitching, so where does that leave you “mate”.
@wezskid Your last comment is a typical ad homonym attack used by people who have no idea how to argue the points. But thanks for reading “mate” BTW if it were not for us you limies or aussies would be speaking German.
@wezskid Does not matter if I am right or wrong, man that is shallow. If you cannot get past presentation and only go for shallow instead of substance then it’s no wonder why you would go with this gun, It's got a real pretty fake crest and it’s got this gothic script that makes it look so European and such. Well you got hosed scooter. If you bought a first generation Colt, you would have history in your hand, you have a new beanie baby that people are saying is worth 1k times its cost to make
@wezskid BTW scooter and your Rohrbaugh club, its funny, I have been collecting and selling guns for 30 years. I have an FFL and just sold an all marching 41 BYF Luger for 1900, and have sold many guns this years alone. I live in a 150k paid for home and have a income that I do not work for. So much for your Ad Hominem attack of basement living. LMAO. I did not get that money by wasteing it on guns that are not worth what I pay, and the Rohrbaugh is one that I would not waste the $ on.
@GunGuy0 I too looked at Boberg you mentioned. Boberg seems in stand still for over half of a year, so it is hard to predict when if at all their first production gun will be sold. Now I'm sure I will get Rohrbaugh. It probably will be snappier than Boberg design due to pure physics. But if ever comes the day you will have to use it for real, the pain in the wrist will be the last of your concerns
love my R9 and as for the people who bitch about the spring needing replaced so often?i replace the springs in my 1911's too really is a sweet pocket pistol, less recoil than my Seecamp .380 and much better trigger just my 2 cents

edteach - Hey douche bag, check out the Rohrbaugh forum you're famous over there!
wezskid 1 year ago
@wezskid Yaa, I read the comments, Not much about points where I was wrong, mostly just clap trap character assignation, that’s fine it makes me believe I must have a good base on my points or they would be quick to point out where I was wrong. I have over fifty guns, and that’s down from 132, and I can tell you elitism runs everywhere, the SW9ve is given a hard time, but its really a good gun for the money, I have 250 in with 3 mags for a SS 16 round gun that has 1k rounds with no FTF or FTFs.
jehovah1975 1 year ago
Save your $ folks and buy a gun that you can not only use but that you can sell. These guns will come down in ten years to a more reasonable level, but why wait, it offers nothing that other manufactures don't offer at much better prices, and if you by used you can save even more. I pick up used guns all the time and if I don't care for them I resell and every time make a few dollars for my trouble
edteach2u 1 year ago
For the same money, you can buy a LCP,TCP, T85, Kaltec to name a few, good reliable guns in 380.38.9mm and get 3-4 guns for the same money you will spend on this one. So you can have one in your bedroom, car and two other places for back up for the price of this one gun, is that reasonable? I like Vets and Mustangs, but would never own one becausse I can have 2 corollas, that get 40 MPG and have a much better reliability recorod. If you want to blow money, this is the gun for you.
edteach2u 1 year ago
Fist off scooby, this gun is to small for 9mm, every video show it pinching the shooters hand, Second it is not misinformed, I have colts, AKs and ARs to name a few, and if I had to depend on one, the ugly cheap stamped AK will beat the finly finished Colt AR any day of the week, you are confusing finish with reliability and these have their own reliability issues. I am not saying it does not work, but for 250 vs, 1000 you can buy a gun that will do all this one will do and maybe better.
edteach2u 1 year ago
This comment has received too many negative votes show
Over priced POS. People who pay that kind of money for a gun are out of their mind. Much better guns out there. I picked up a SS taurus TCP and it has not had a FTF/FTE yet. And for 250$ I could buy 4 for the price that you pay for this POS.
edteach2u 1 year ago
@edteach2u That is a very simplistic, misinformed, and ignorant review of this handgun. There is absolutely no comparison in workmanship and quality, let alone a 9mm to .380 caliber, to a Taurus.
scar2783 1 year ago 8
@scar2783 If you want a gold plated framing hammer, its up to you, but don't tell others you are getting something for your money. this gun is over priced plain and simple. You can talk about how polished it is, but it does nothing to imporve the job it is designed to do. Taurus, Ruger, S&W, Walther, Bersa have guns that do the job this gun does, and have done it better for almost 100 years in some cases and for a third the price or less. I have several guns,
edteach2u 1 year ago
@edteach2u A ppk American pre S&W and its as good as it gets, size is small and quality is the best, A west German PPKS that is a good gun, and a Taurus 709 that is as small as I would feel comfortable going on a 9mm, What’s next a 3 oz 50 cal? Crazy. This gun is designed to hit a target market of people who want to spend more money on something than its value because they can and owning it states this. .
edteach2u 1 year ago
@scar2783 Look at the old guy shooting, he can bearly handle this gun, he has to reset his grip every shot, yaaaaa great gun alright. Get a gun you can shoot and handle, not some hard to hold, over priced POS that the king with no clothes says is great because it must be it cost so much, you need to invest with madoff he was the best also and ended up killing more jews than hitler. LOL
edteach2u 1 year ago
@edteach2u Is that to simplistic for you butter cup?
edteach2u 1 year ago
I've owned an R9 for 2 years now and it's a fine gun. Reliable and powerful. There is nothing else available equal in size, quality and reliability. For a pocket pistol it is quite capable. Take a look at one, up close. Fire one. You just might buy one (if you can afford it). It's not an inexpensive gun. It's not a cheap gun. It's not a cookie cutter model that you see at every gun show. Once you spend some time researching this gun - you'll understand. Ed - it might not be for you.
dan04211 1 year ago
@dan0421I have looked at it, And what I saw was a gun that was priced about 70% over its real value, inflated artificially to pander to the look what I have crowed. It has had some issues if you read the reviews. It is too small IMO for the 9mm, makes is hard to control. concealability is good, but the cookie cutter comment is puzzling, so your gun is different from others of this maker? There is a reason companys copy the 1911 its an exclent design. Money is better spent on another gun. IMO
edteach2u 1 year ago
@edteach2u Real value is what people are willing to pay, and it's the same as street price. The street price of this gun is around $1000. Given it's construction, materials, and quality, and the fact there is no other 9mm this small - the market pays $1000 so it's real value is $1000. I have one. It's not hard to control. It's the most accurate pocket gun out there. There is no other 9mm this small, so it's not a cookie cutter gun like all the other $250 small guns out there. My opinion.
dan04211 1 year ago
@dan04211 I have found people who own someting are not reliable in their opinions, I sell any gun I do not like and will report it as such. I have read all the bias against the Sigma, I went to several gun shows, held it and it fit my hand like no other gun. I got it for 250 OTD new after the rebate. 16 rounds, SS slide and BBl and not one FTF/E Thats a value. I have a Glock 19 and its a good gun, but it cost 700 new and the grip is not as good. Trigger on the Sigma stiff and a bit grittie.
edteach2u 1 year ago
@edteach2u Well I'm sure everyone would agree that the owner of a product has much less experience with that product than a window shopper. No argument there! I've also found that postings on the Internet by non-owners are usually negative either because the poster has a similar product from a different mfg, or the poster has ruled-out the product for some reason and needs to reassure themselves of that decision. Glad you've made some good deals.
dan04211 1 year ago
@dan04211 I think that people that own a thing can give an unbiased reveiw and a biased review. This is why I would go on a forum and ask those who have seen it but not purchased it. Most of the good reviews are only from owners, It would not be reality to think that people who spend 1k on a think will not try to see it as the best thing in the world or they have to admit they did a stupid thing. People do it with much larger purchases than this.
edteach2u 1 year ago
@dan04211 This gun is for a pourpous, it is not a historical artifact that you can sit on your mantal and show off to the neighbors. Does the gun go bang every time you pull the trigger, can it be hidden, if it fits the pourpos, than it works, I need a hammer to put on siding on my home, but to have one that is engraved and costs 1k is unreasonalbe. There hamamers that do the same job for 23 and there are guns that do the same job as well or better for 300.
edteach2u 1 year ago
@dan04211 I used to be like you, I bought the best, I was an Audophile, to name one, and it finaly struck me, the sound that I was supposed to get was so little if any different out of the 800$ speaker over the 95$ speaker that I was wasting my money. Most of the people paying the top end were trying to prove something to someone else. Then I cant count the times I paid for the top end and it borke down much sooner than the medium end.
edteach2u 1 year ago
@dan04211 The Rutabega is over priced pain and simple if you can not understand this then you are the demographic that this company targets. People who can not distinguish value vs hype. When a company makes tie tacs and engraves your serial no, on it, it is targeting people with identity crisis. True if someone will pay 1k for a hooker that is the cost, but not to be confused with value, its just not there my friend. AKs are better guns than the M16 because of lose tolorances.
edteach2u 1 year ago
@edteach2u: I dont know much about this handgun, but I was really surprised to see how expensive it was. Personally I am not sure if I would own a Taurus, but either way, there are a lot of other decently priced pocket pistols, I have been hearing a lot about the new Ruger 380, but haven't had the opportunity to fire one yet. Either way, I don't see myself buying one of these even if I had the money to purchase one.
tonydelacruz45 1 year ago
@tonydelacruz45 This gun has no value for the money, it is all flash and hype. I looked at the ruger LCP a good gun, but only one mag and no hold open device. The taurus was SS with HO device and extra mag and carrying holster that looks like a PDA holder. All for 289, great value. I have put three hunderd rounds through mine with out a problem. 9mm is not comfortable to shoot in this size gun, look at all the videos, they all complain about pinch or jump. And you get all that for 1k LOL.
edteach2u 1 year ago
@edteach2u The Taurus is a POS with cheap steel, sloppy tolerances and poor quality control. I own two, and neither one was up to par out of the box. One rattles like a baby's toy when you pick it up and you're lucky if you can get it to index the cylinder properly for your next shot.
The other one had a sight loose and a mashed cylinder head that required repair in order to load rounds into two of the chambers.
The Rohrbaugh, on the other hand, is solid reliability.
Binky40SW 1 year ago
@Binky40SW lose tolerances, wow so Vietnam kicked our ass with a lose tolorance POS called the AK and the Afgan rebbels are doing the same today with the same POS that rattles. I guess if the GIs had 1000 dollar Rohrbaughs they would not be getting their ass kicked over there today? You rube, get a clue and quit talking about things you know little or nothign about.
edteach2u 1 year ago
@edteach2u Tell me when you shot the Rohrbaugh? I doubt you have, the rohrbaugh is built like a custom made 1911 as for as quality goes. To even mention a Taurus in the same statement as the Rohrbaugh is purely ignorant, not that they 'taurus'are bad guns, they just do not come close to comparing with each other.
streamfisher1 1 year ago
@streamfisher1 It is ignorant to buy a gun for self defence and pay 1k because it massages your balls and nothing else. Accura just had a commercial that showed silver dust rubbed into the wood of their dash. Whoop ditty doooo, My guns, go bang when the trigger is pulled, just like yours, and because someone rubbed it on their ass for an hour does not do a god damn thing in reality but give a woody to small dicks.

@edteach2u Anyone want to make a pool on when this company goes tits up? A few people who have to spend this kind of money on a gun that does not deliver any more than a gun half or one third the price is destin to die in the free market. And in this economy to be sure.
wolflair55 1 year ago
there was a blog on the internet somewhere that said this thing can't handle anything beyond 150 rounds. And for that price?
adrianrubi 1 year ago
@adrianrubi - The company recommends that the recoil spring be changed at 200 rounds. They cost a whopping $4 a piece. I bought 5 of them. Again, a pocket gun is NOT a gun to be shot all the time. To paraphrase Mr. Rohrbaugh in his youtube video, "...it's a gun to be carried a lot and shot very little..." As an avid handgun shooter of over 30 years and a 26 year FULL TIME law enforcement veteran, I have to say this is the best pocket gun/back up gun that I have seen yet.
scar2783 1 year ago
@scar2783 A pocket gun is absolutely should be able to support being shot all the time. Maybe not 200+ rounds a week but it should hold up to average shooting. I shoot 100rnds a week through my PF9 and cycle my carry ammo every month.
wolvee123 1 year ago
@scar2783 BS, Mr Rohrbaugh? are you blowing him? If you have to buy a spring for 200 rounds its a POS, thats of shit for limbaugh listeners. Give me a freaking break, So this guy puts a fack crest on his gun and some gothic letters and prices it 4 Xs the going rate of a Ruger or Taurus or even twice the over price of a colt mustang and you try to tell us its the best you have seen, well you must not have seen much. This gun is a joke and for that kind of money I could get a good gun pay rent.
jehovah1975 1 year ago
@scar2783 I have a colt, 1911 I picked up from a Col. estate, it was made in 1943 and It has the original springs and it works like the day colt put it out. Thats a gun. A gun that every one has imitated even the Chinese. That is time tested, not some gun that is priced at 4 times the compitition and has to have springs changed every 200 rounds. Some people just like to feel like they are part of something and project it on a marketed item, car, stereo, gun, fred thompson used a trophy wife
jehovah1975 1 year ago
@scar2783 This kind of money and you have to replace the spring. What a joke this gun is. Look at them on GB they are not flying off the shelf. I have a colt pocket pistol that is almost 100 years old and it has the original spring. To say that it is not to be shot much tells a lot about this piece of shit and I do mean SHIT. I could buy a PPK that beats this gun all hollow and a high priced hooker and have money left over. I guess you rudabega buyers like to look at your POS gun and jack off .
jehovah1975 1 year ago
@scar2783 Are you kidding me, a gun that sells for 1200 and you have to replace the spring in 200 rounds, they could not put in a quality spring for that kind of money? What a hunk of shit.

I am not posting because of those idiots, but for people who need to know better.
jehovah1975 1 year ago
A proper grip would really minimize the recoil as well. Looked like it was about to jump out of his hand!
Heimerize 1 year ago
This has been flagged as spam show
@Heimerize Yeah ahh...he has a proper grip. The gun barks and is VERY hard to hold onto.
I have had mine ported and checkerd on the front and rear backstrap, amongst other mods. Porting has reduced the felt recoil dramatically.
scar2783 1 year ago
@scar2783 Hammer grip is really not optimum for a pistol of this size.
Heimerize 1 year ago
one gun that would blow this one out of the park...Boberg XR9
GunGuy0 2 years ago
@GunGuy0 If they ever release it, it will be interesting for sure. Although, the Boberg XR9-S is still a heavier gun at 18oz. , vs. the Rohrbaugh at 13.5 oz.
scar2783 2 years ago
Was looking at the XR9-S...hefty price though for a compact pistol though.
GunGuy0 2 years ago
@GunGuy0 The Rohrbaugh is $1100 and up itself. The Stealth Elite and Robar versions command a much higher price...
scar2783 2 years ago
@scar278 I still have yet for any of the rubes to tell me just what part of this gun makes it worth four times as much as others. I get the Ferrari vs Yougo or some such clap trap but no real substance. Its like arguing with a Christian that runs around saying I have my bible I have my bible and ignores scientific fact. Well the fossil evidence tears up Genesis and common sense tears up the arguments for this gun. If my guns go bang every time the trigger is pulled and is as accurate, Y this gun
jehovah1975 1 year ago
@GunGuy0 And the mag release is the cheap under the mag catch that can get caught and released by accident. Great little over priced POS

@edteach2u You're fucked up...
wezskid 1 year ago
@wezskid Really?, I still see you can not defend your posistion. You are like the Christian or religious people I debate, they run away screaming how fucked up I am, its not an argument scooter, its called an ad hominem attack and is used when your argument lacks any credibility.
edteach2u 1 year ago
@edteach2u It doesn't matter if you're right or wrong, it's your presentation. I'm not even from your country but you seem to be just a typical dick who has nothing better to do than to bitch about shit, and attacks people with a different point of view/opinion. Way to feed into the American stereotype mate.
Also, your spelling and grammar is horrendous! Hope you're truly not a teacher of any sort.
wezskid 1 year ago
@wezskid It is not a right or wrong position, it’s an argument that this particular gun does not give anything for the money paid. If you can’t get by my presentation then go find someone to stroke your dick and tell you a bed time story. So I have nothing better to do than bitch and you have nothing better to do than bitch about a guy who is bitching, so where does that leave you “mate”.
edteach2u 1 year ago
@wezskid Your last comment is a typical ad homonym attack used by people who have no idea how to argue the points. But thanks for reading “mate” BTW if it were not for us you limies or aussies would be speaking German.
edteach2u 1 year ago
@wezskid Does not matter if I am right or wrong, man that is shallow. If you cannot get past presentation and only go for shallow instead of substance then it’s no wonder why you would go with this gun, It's got a real pretty fake crest and it’s got this gothic script that makes it look so European and such. Well you got hosed scooter. If you bought a first generation Colt, you would have history in your hand, you have a new beanie baby that people are saying is worth 1k times its cost to make
jehovah1975 1 year ago
@wezskid BTW scooter and your Rohrbaugh club, its funny, I have been collecting and selling guns for 30 years. I have an FFL and just sold an all marching 41 BYF Luger for 1900, and have sold many guns this years alone. I live in a 150k paid for home and have a income that I do not work for. So much for your Ad Hominem attack of basement living. LMAO. I did not get that money by wasteing it on guns that are not worth what I pay, and the Rohrbaugh is one that I would not waste the $ on.
jehovah1975 1 year ago
@GunGuy0 I too looked at Boberg you mentioned. Boberg seems in stand still for over half of a year, so it is hard to predict when if at all their first production gun will be sold. Now I'm sure I will get Rohrbaugh. It probably will be snappier than Boberg design due to pure physics. But if ever comes the day you will have to use it for real, the pain in the wrist will be the last of your concerns
