  • Great video - I was trying to search for the MTV True Life I have diabetes segment that was shown in the USA last week - but due to not living in that country - can't view it - but viola - found something just as good. I've had T1D since the 60's - entering into my 44th year - and doing VERY well. Postive attitude like you say - is the way to be!

  • silly girl...dont prick your thumb...toomany nerves...

  • From one diabetic to another, you're awesome. Email me if you wish to chat. gc

  • Lots of my brothers and Mom have diabetes as well as me. Soo family gathering are a riot because we are all doing the same thing: calculating carbs and unit ratio, units to inject, eyeing food with carb content in mind, etc. I find that so funny and very normal now I guess. It was not always so but now it is life, and yes, i yank it out in from of everybody to give myself a bolus. There are so many diabetics now.

  • I have the same pump as her :D

  • she sounds exactly like emma watson

  • i have had diabetes type 1 for 6 yr and im 14 now. its hard having diabetes but you can alway make it through. my boyfriend had diabetes type 2 but he died a month ago, i miss him. R.I.P Nick

  • @taylah43 did you develop diabetes or did you not know you had diabetes?

  • Haha I take insulin when I'm sitting at the table at a restaurant. You know what, this is my life. It depends on a life or death situation. And if people don't like it, don't look.

  • @mrsfuzionzero lol thats my situation every time i eat out too :)

  • @mrsfuzionzero I agree. I'm also type 1 and I inject anywhere. It's not my fault what's happened, so if people can't deal with it it's whatever.

  • when i was in the hospital after i was diagnosed they told me that the sooner i learned how to do everything the sooner i could go home. i just never slowed down from then

  • I have diabetes.

Got diagnosed when I was 12, I am not 17.

I get what she says about not wanting to give shots, because this one old lady started yelling at me for shooting up lol

My story is so similar to this girl!

    I can relate so well

  • hey sydnii54 just letting you know it also depends on the type of bread as well as the size of the bread!

  • wow..i havnt tested my blood in like two weeks:S and i never take insulin..:S and p.s.. a peice of toast is 15.

  • Wow, ur not serious right?

  • hate to say but i dont want to go to your funeral :( measure your blood sugar and take regular insulin or you will suffer the consequences in a near future.

  • I loved the comment when her Mom said that shes different - more empowered - like she can be stronger and handle challenges better. Good control of type one does make you feel more empowered and you feel like you can do anything you want. Way to go Chandler. I love your pump because I have exactly the same version. Pumps are great aren't they? I have the little red dots too - nothing to do about that I guess but hey pumps rock. Good for you girl ! Keep it up !

  • man i wish i had the out look you do how do you do it to be honest my sugars havnt been controled in almost 3 years and my own doctors dont know what to do so to you i sat your doing good keep on going

  • Insulin injections , i have novarapid (injected before eating or after eating) and levemir(works 24 hours). you need to experiment with your insulin a little , you need to think 'this is my basis , then a little more for that and that what i eat , will it be enough?maybe a bit extra' and so on

  • im diabetic and have been for 12 years and i am coping really well, im 14 and my last HbA1c was 6.3 but go chandler

  • @shootingstarskycats go to the hospital ASAP cuz you mite die of such a high blood sugar (if you have it, which u probably do!!) my mom was sorta the same. I as in the ICU 4 a day and could not walk around the hospital cuz my chest hurt from no insulin. GO 2 THE HOSPITAL NOW!!!!

  • Chandler, you are an amazing person! As Psalm 139 says - you are fearfully and wonderfully made. Keep on running!

  • Insulin Pumps are medical wonders

  • There is further scientific trials/tests being done as we speak for treatments involving replacement of BETA CELLS which produce INSULIN. We are getting closer, to a solution that will really help Type 1 diabetics. However, this is no excuse for the rising rate of teen diabetics in england. Thanks

  • rising teen diabetics in terms of Type 2.
