  • This is a farlowella, or twig catfish, although some people (you guys for example) call it a whiptail

  • I usually put the proper (latin) name in the description as common names differ from country to country. Changed description now.

  • how big do they get? and mine dosen't have a long nose? and i must agree these are one of the best fish in an aquarium.

  • There are a few types. The ones in this video will get about 6" max.

  • what do you guys feed them? i have one in my 10 gallon and he ignores my algae wafers and doesn't bother with any left over flakes. all he does is stick to my plants and sometimes sucks on them. i've had him for 5 days

  • They don't seem to need much food as we never see them feeding on anything except the algae on the sides. They probably scavenge when the lights go out.

  • @pondguru

thanks for the info I call the store where I bought the fish and they said that "they eat on the micro algae growing on plants" if that makes any sense O.o either way it's been 6 days and he seems to be doing fine. I have him in a 10 gallon and i'm upgrading to a 55 gallon :)

  • I love whiptail i have one

  • I love these too, but we don't sell many. I think they're one of the nicest fish you could put in a tropical tank.

  • @pondguru Yeah i agree. Just got my 1st 1. On its own at the mo but wanna find out if m or f and if they are a pair or group b4 i get another. Has cleaned my tank up heaps as well
