They sold versions of it (LM001 & LM002) to individuals, Libyans, the Saudis, etc.. just like U.S. selling weapons. The cheetah is virtually the same, like the difference between a two or four door explorer. The Humvee makers got the idea directly inspired by the Lamborghini cheetah. Humvee started regular use around 1980.

@dhutchinson11- They're not in production anymore. Production of this model stopped in 1986. You can buy one for about $46,000 though. :D

It was filmed in 1990 and I was there. it's Alberto Tomba the skier driving. that think will do 120 mph off road.
