  • if your describtion says were it stopped it slowed but never stopped in st bees

  • Thanks - but it is just meant as a route description. Sorry for any confusion. Chris

  • Dont put yourself down so much Chris. Your stuff is amongst the best. Thats why I used the opening to this vid on '71000 The Insider Collection' and thats sold hundreds. The mist on the viaduct made the intro unforgettable. Its what trailers the whole video. 10 stars, er 5 stars, LoL.

  • Quality video.

  • Thank you Andrew. Not even I could have made too much of a mess with such a loco in such scenery (though, as ever, it's not perfect). Chris

  • Chris, Just catching up on the older work, and this is an excellent example of how things should be done. The winter is certainly the best time to film and this proves it. Well done!

  • You really should get out more - sitting indoors watching this old stuff :-);-)

Winter days with little wind and the exhaust just lazily hangs there. Thanks for the kind words. Chris

  • Nice vid mate...thanks for uploading!I saw this monster at Crewe on Friday evening being pulled by Beasts 37401, and 37417! I wish I'd got my cam for that!!

  • Thanks - she's had a busy weekend by all accounts in Devon and South Wales. Chris

  • Excellent videography!

    5*

  • Thanks - good loco in good form in a beautiful part of the world. Chris

  • Love the opening sequence - very atmospheric - georgous light - fantastic exhaust effect - wonderful!!

  • I was a bit disappointed on the day (I was hoping for a clear view of the viaduct) but the video recreates the atmosphere of the day nicely. Chris

  • Superb video,superb locomotive.

  • Thanks Neil - cracking loco and great scenery. What a combination. Chris

  • I have just watched it three times, read all the comments but cannot add to anything that has already been said. A superb video Chris.

  • Thanks very much - glad you enjoyed it. The Duke is a lovely locomotive and the scenery helps a great chunk. Chris

  • Looks like you had a cracking day Chris - the light, still air and clag on the first shot is simply gorgeous. I'm a big fan of the Foxfield area too - and there's nothing like a loco letting off steam. A cracking pan at Siddick and what an excellent spot. Roll on the next one!

  • Thanks David - a great day all round. Had the light right at Grange but messed up the panning and at Foxfield I couldn't find a decent angle without looking into the sun. So Siddick was a bit of a relief at the end of my day out. Were you out? Chris

  • I was - I've tried to upload the video, but can't get it to work for some unknown reason. First Pinnacle falls out with me, now YouTube. What next?!?

  • Looks like you had a good day Chris, pity we can't be in two places at once....

  • Best day wetherwise for a long while Ralph. I was very sorry to miss the 2nd Cotton Mill but took the view that there would be several more opportunities to see that this year albeit with different loco(s) and stock combinations. Incidentally I am having exactly the same problem as you with Stage6 - must be them. Chris

  • So many steam through the chimney... Very good video.

  • Thanks Andrzej - despite the sun it was still quite cold and I think that enhanced the sight of the exhaust. Chris

  • Cracking vid, Chris. Makes a change to have such good weather giving great views of the loco snaking round the coast.

  • Thank you "rab" - we were due some good weather I think. I see you got some too following the Cotton Mill Express. That was well filmed and the countryside around the climb to Copy Pit looked quite brilliant - great stuff. Chris

  • SOme nice winter shots there Chris, with perfect lighting conditions. The load was considerably less this year compared to last year though. STill i enjoyed it all. :-)

  • Thanks David - They were good conditions except for a small niggle at Foxfield where I couldn't avoid looking into the sun. But I'm not complaining - we saw some sun!! Chris

  • This is a super video! Thank you.

  • Wow, this is a marvellous video! It made me very homesick, especially the sound of the waves. I wish I'd been there! The photography was superb and of course the Duke was a splendid sight to see. Thank you

  • I saw her last week (2-2-08) and she is a very strong locomotive

  • Hi Elaine, it was a good day - fairly bright but with quite a nip in the air. You should have seen the sun shining on the lakeland peaks - beautiful. Now that would have made you jump on a plane!! Chris
